Exactly.
I'm just trying to point out the flaw in the pure relative seniority method, and if someone could give me the seniority number of a Colgan guy hired in oct of 2003, I'll show you the flaw in the pure DOH method. We all would like to see where we fall in this 3 headed monster, and thinking your seniority will be based off purely relative is going to make alot of people sorely disappointed. If you have put in many many years into a crap company like Pinnacle, Mesaba, or Colgan then you should have that factored into something as important as your seniority number. ...and if this thing messes up my master plan to upgrade soon I'm gonna say some bad words, crack some heads and do some bodily harm. There are only a hand full of 03's at Colgan and they are in the top 35 people in the company. 07's are in the top 50%. '08 hires are upgrading now.

It sure would help to have some actual information here.
Can anyone provide a breakdown for the 3 companies for number of pilots in each seat/airplane? Pinnacle CRJ-200 / -900 CA / FO Colgan Q400 / Saab CA / FO Mesaba CRJ-200 / -900 / Saab CA / FO Additionally, anyone able to provide the DOH of pilots on each list that are... 0% (#1 guy) 25% 50% 75% 100% (bottom active guy) |
Our seniority list does not give us DOH. I believe maybe our merger committee has that information though. I can only help out with the information I can get from employee numbers which is a rough estimate as of Oct 2010.

The whole problem with this discussion is the disparity with DOH on each list.
If you look at the bottom 50% of each list they are similar DOH wise and percentage wise, but the top 50% of each list makes it a little different. A 7 year 9E guy sits at 21% and at Mesaba 38% (if someone can give me the seniority number of a 7 year (as of this month) Colgan guy, I'll put their percentage here) If you take that and apply it to the 3000 pilot group, the 9E guy is at 630 and the XJ guy at 1140, that's a difference of 510 numbers and they were hired at the same time. (I would love to add Colgan to this also) |
Top guy is mid 85.
I am a 2005 with a seniority around 580. Most junior guys are being hired now. 1300 on the seniority list I believe. So a little more than 5 years here at pinnacle puts you in the 40% range. |

The numbers in my post are where you would sit on the 3000 pilot list with pure relative seniority not at XJ. My lists are incomplete though, the Colgan one only has seniority number but no DOH and all of 9E needs to be adjusted to first day on property like XJ has. |

Are you going to hang this story over the collective head of the Mesaba pilots as well? Pinnacle Corporation...not Pinnacle Airlines, purchased Colgan. Sorry your pilot group wasn't involved in the decision. Neither were we.
Where do you think Pinnacle Corp got their money? Did they print it?!?!?! Sure as heck doesnt come from Colgan LOLOLOL |
