Pure relative method for a 7 year pilot at all 3 carriers in the combined group:

Mesaba - 1140
Pinnacle - 630
Colgan - 210

That is where you would bid if you were hired at the same time.

The Colgan guy bids the same as a 12 year 9E and an 18 year XJ guy.

DOH method for a 7 year pilot at all 3 carriers in the combined group:

They all fall around the 745 mark on the 3000 pilot list.

The shift in percentage as opposed to what they are bidding currently in their company is:

Mesaba - gain of 14% or +395 seats from the purely relative

Pinnacle - loss of 3% or -115 seats from the purely relative

Colgan - loss of 17% or -535 seats from the purely relative

As you can see the 9E 7 year guy stays fairly stable no matter what method is used, but the Colgan and Mesaba guys change dramatically

Not really, the SLI guys will take care of these discrepancies.

My whole point is to show that they will not use one method or the other but a combination of the two to make it overall fair for everyone.

This assumption that I figure ONLY Colgan FO's have career expectations is wrong...I'm just standing up for my best interests, as I know the 9E and XJ guys will do for their own best interests. Sorry if it rubs you or IBpilot the wrong way.

Can you make a case for why upgrades on Colgan equipment in Colgan bases should go to a pilot of another airline? Seems pretty fair that a pilot who has put in time at said carrier should get first shot. Obviously you'll object if you work for 9E or XJ.

Grow Up!!!!!!

I can't understand why everyone is so mad and entitled on this board!!! Everybody acts like it's them who deserves everything and only them who has sacrificed anything! Ridiculous! Every single pilot group is contributing to the new company!

Pinnacle, yes you financed the acquisitions of both (which in technically in mesabas case isn't necessarily true, since Delta actually did) but don't forget Mesaba is bringing it's safety, maintenance, and customer service culture which will bring a better name to the operation. Safety = business = $$$ in our pockets. Mesaba also brings it's contract success to the table. Colgan is the only airline bringing more planes with Q-400 growth and business potential with other airlines!!!! Pinnacle, although scolded for it, brings some beneficial cost structure techniques (aside from workers compensation areas) that the others haven't quite developed, and delta likes it. Please quit acting like your airline is the only one bringing anything to the table and that you deserve a seniority windfall. Grow up and lose the pompous attitude. We all sacrifice an enormous amount to be here and keep our operations running, let's use our strengths to fly a damn good airline so PASSENGERS keep PAYING US OUR SALARIES!!!! *Without them we have NOTHING!!!

I was happy to find out my Colgan ID will soon be shredded for a Mesaba ID but then realized that Mesaba is about to get Pinnacle-ized. It wont be the same airline! Pinnacle management is going to raid Mesaba like the FBI raiding a Brooklyn social club hosting John Gotti in the 80's! Mesaba management will be face down on the floor for treating crews so good.

There is no such a thing as colgan equipment. It is all pinnacle equipment. You guys have been outsourced to fly Pinnacle pilots planes. So your basis that you all would be upgrading in your own bases with your own planes is false. All of the planes over at colgan are pinnacles. But if you kiss my ring I may let you upgrade. :)

Not to mention Colgan will cease to exist. Can't we all just get along?

All of these mergers right now throughout the industry definately stand to strengthen the industry as a whole. United/Continental with the scope issue and more even pay scales at the mainline level. We also have opportunities. We NEED to be united as one strong group. We all have a lot to gain as well as lose. I'll get off my soapbox now, I just wanted to point out that this is an opportunity to steer it right or at least towards it a little.

I see what you're saying, but we can't base our actions today on what might be tomorrow. Just look at Comair. Until there is 100% unity among ALL regionals, there will always be one carrier that is cheaper than the other, and the viscious cycle will continue. The big changes have to come from the top (Mainline scope)

It's funny you say that, because senior 9E First Officers have more longevity than FOs at either Mesaba or Colgan.

Relative could screw that subset of Pinnacle pilots, big time.
