As you may recall, today was the extended deadline set to complete Pilot contract negotiations. Significant progress has been made, so we have asked and ALPA has agreed to stay at the table to attempt to complete negotiations. We will keep you updated on our progress.

I thought we weren't going to extend the deadline again? What is going on? Must be the old good faith thing again...

Sounds like more management tactics, they just keep ducking and weaving avoiding a contract. My question is how long are we going to wait before we decide to do something about it? Contract 2012?

I'm not sure if management has the choice to stall these negotiations. They don't have near the leverage as they used to. Plus, they might be making money, but not near the amount they would with a pilot contract (new flying contracts, better moral, etc...)

You got it. The longer they wait, the more XJ pilots they are going to be paying to sit around and do nothing. Just look at the timeline. It is 29 days after a TA is reached to start SLI talks. They get 45 days to discuss. Best case senario, it is 2.5 months until they can start moving people around. That is a lot of XJ saab pilots sitting around doing nothing and getting paid to do so. I guess they could put Q400s on the XJ certificate right now and discontinue hiring at Colgan.....but I think there would be a lot to get done to get that going.

Either way, the longer this gets dragged out...the more money the company and investors lose.

Did anyone REALLY think 2 and a half days would do anything?

Yes.

The XJ email only mentions them working on 2 different sections next week, training and scheduling, if thats all that's left they did make alot of progress.

I would like to see an all open items list.
