Seems like there is a lot of misinformation going on that colgan is bleeding money on a consistent basis. The last quarter we brought in 9 million... Where is this operating in the red nonsense coming from

Yeah its true, at this moment. Just look at the numbers and you can pretty much figure it out. That and reading about the Pinnacle Corp expenses. I mean do you really think that 1500 employees causes the $100,000,000 difference between Pinnacle and Mesaba? Pinnacle Corp pays all the bills and they get the most money from Pinnacle Inc. We have been paying for Colgan while they operate in the red. If mesaba were to go on by themselves the numbers would be the same or even higher due to having to hire ground support, agents, etc etc. Its a lot more than just wages of the pilots/flight attendants.

Yeah but WHEN did they want to continue talks? That is the question.

Did you mean keep talking tonight or schedule more dates?
|
The message doesn't state a new timeline but I would imagine this means they will continue to talk this week. I would expect a union email sometime tonight or early tomorrow.

Again... no more dates! Those who think this will happen if the talks continue are the reaon why "5 year negotiations" become acceptable! If nothing tonight, then the holidays will be our bargaining power. The time to restrategize is tomorrow. Do not believe in a 1/3/2011-1/5/2011 negotiating period or whatever it may be. These are ploys to get through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years without a slowdown or interruption. I ask again, when is enough enough?! |

The pinnacle Segment achieved a full year operating margin of 9.5% while the Colgan Segment recorded a negative operating margin of 2.3 for 2007 2008: Colgan has historically reported significant losses or significantly lower income during the first and fourth quarters of each year, when demand for air travel is generally lower, and higher income during the second and third quarters of each year when demand for air travel increases. The Company expects this seasonality to continue to affect Colgan’s financial results in future periods. not that any of this matters. There is more, just tired of going through the paperwork to find it all. |

Airsupport - I took my original post down, because it was only a tiny portion of what's really going on. It's actually a moot point to be discussing stuff that is totally out of context.
Everyone - As far as the announcement by DS, I took it as if they are, as we speak, still negotiating. Now is NOT the time to be talking about picketing and slowdowns. Now is the time to support the JNC and our MECs in the progress they're making. There is no point in derailing the positive progress. When there is no more progress, then we flex the muscles. The difference now is that PNCL management wants this to happen. That's what I believe right now anyway. |
Here's the update they posted:
Chief Operating Officer Doug Shockey December 2, 2010 As you may recall, today was the extended deadline set to complete Pilot contract negotiations. Significant progress has been made, so we have asked and ALPA has agreed to stay at the table to attempt to complete negotiations. We will keep you updated on our progress. |
