If you fly for Delta Connection and have a PPR number, when you request the jumpseat the system will automatically try to get you a seat at whatever priority you ride at as a non-rev. In this case you would keep your S3C priority to get a seat before any buddy pass people or if the flight filled up you would get the jumpseat before an OAL pilot. In the future just jumpseat if the flight is anywhere near full.

That is why the jumpseat did not exist at mainline til the mid 90's. Even today, there are some who think it's unfair and throw up roadblocks where they can. Most times, agents will look the other way and try to get you on one way or the other. Then there are the ones who don't like pilots.......

But when I request a jumpseat on DAL/DCC they dont use the PPR number, they use my employee number which is different??

I don't think this is right. I fly for Delta and I know that when I jumpseat I'm a lower priority for a seat in the back. I've been stuck in coach while Pinnacle pilots are in first class due to me jumpseating instead of non-revving. Maybe it's different for DCI, but I highly doubt it.

The system will not let the agent check me in as a jumpseater and non-rev. It's Delta policy.

Negative. In DLTerm (DLMatic...pick one), the jumpseat request list, PJS* (write that one down folks) allows the agent to add a new name to the JS list or modify the listing of an existing one. It does not allow the agent to transfer a name on the list based on non-rev boarding priority and certainly does not do so programmatically. In fact, when you're listed ONLY on the jumpseat, you're actually boarded ON the jumpseat (A@O-1P - 1P being the jumpseat, or "pit" seat) even if you're in the cabin. There simply is no way to move to the back short of listing separately as a non-rev and being cleared that way. You may be confusing listing as a non-rev and activating with a 3 priority, in which case, DLTerm will pick up your PPR info and assign the appropriate B or C code depending on your employer.
As far as dual listing is concerned, in so far as I'm aware, the prohibition is limited to DL mainline pilots and not necessarily DCI carrier pilots. I'm reasonably sure it's governed by the JS agreement that your carrier has negotiated with DL. Hope this helps....

Cheers

From what i understand you have to ask to be transfered to the nonrev list and if you've paid the 50 bucks you then switch to the normal nonrev list you will no longer be eligible for the jumpseat at this time though.

My experience as a DCI pilot is to simply list and activate your non-rev pass at a Kiosk. Once at the gate, simply ask to list for the jumpseat. If you think it's close, don't let them talk you out of it. If you neglect to mention that you've already checked in as a non-rev, they typically don't check and you will then be listed for both. However, if you mention that you've already checked in as a non-rev, they will typically cancel your non-rev pass. That being said, it you have checked in as a non-rev, and the gate agent seems quite hurried and busy, they will be much appreciative if you give them your non-rev pass to view, as it seems to make listing you for the jumpseat easier for them.
