You want to see what happens when regional ac are put on a majors list? Look at US Air. E190 at $95 max pay. That's less than an equivalent CRJ200 pay at most regionals. So, you pay your dues at a regional only to get hired by mainline and get the same pay with the option of maybe moving up aircraft. The regionals will eventual contract and get smaller. When the economy turns around, the majors will suck up many regional pilots. The regionals will not be able to hire fast enough due to not enough pilots training. The majors will be forced to take back some of the flying and put it on larger aircraft. The solution is not to put smaller aircraft on the majors. It is for them to take the flying back on the bigger routes. Let the regionals fly SLC-BZN and LAX-SBA. They shouldn't be flying LAX-DFW or LAX-IAH.

It sounds like UAL fuloughees will get first dibs on the RJ slots since the company is contractually obligated to give those to them. It sounds like SAPA is trying to pay protect the Bro guys who would be eligible for the RJ but only if they have a bid for it. Better get your bid in Bro guys. Its good to hear that they are hiring cause our staffing is pretty bad.
