All right. And what colleges have an aviation departement? Does it mean you have to study something related to aviation to be able to do an internship or does one just have to be doing the ratings and becoming a pilot. For example I actually planned on studying something in the busines section, doing my ratings, and becoming a pilot without having an aviation degree. The degree would be my possibility to fall back one if aviation won't work out.

Some internships will be for "aviation students" some will be open to all students. If your school does have an aviation program, swing by and pick up informatino on any internships that are available with aviation companies, if yours doesn't, you'd have to either check with your university to see what they can find for you, or you'll have to call/e-mail places you'd be interested in and see what they have to offer and what you can do to get in.

You might be competing against others who have aviation degrees or three years of training towards one, depending on what the company wants. You might fall better into their "mold" than some others, same time...not having CRM courses advanced systems courses may put you behind. Just depends on who's offering the position.

Thank you for answering all my questions so quickly! But I still have obscurities towards aviation degrees. What kind of degrees are there? Is an "aviation degree" an overall thing, or is it more technical or more busines? Are there masters ore only bachelors? And last one: Are there colleges that have especially good programs apart from maybe Embry Riddle?

Thanks you so much! I hope I'm not being too annoying!

Well, lets look at it like this. There are different types of aviation degrees at various different colleges and universities all across the country. I didn't shop around all to far when i cam to CMSU, but it was basically going to be between them and Saint Louis University. Embry Riddle is the biggest name that'll come to mind, but there are also University of North Dakota, Kansas State, Oklahoma, and numerous others not mentioned. I can't give details on everyone's programs but look them up, and shop around. Here at CMSU we have several aviation degrees, all of the bachelors degrees are "Bachelors of Science in Aviation Technology" your emphasis here would be between:

Professional Pilot
Flight Operations Management
Airport Management
Maintenence Management
Avionics Management

We also have a Masters degree in Aviation Safety, and i believe a minor in aviation technology but i'd have to check on that one. Other universities will have similar studies, something else to consider, if you were planning on going for a bachelors and masters, you don't have to major in aviation to do a masters in aviation. If you went to a college that didnt' have an aviation department, or , you simply wanted to major in something else, then you could gain a bit of an aviation background doing a masters studies program in aviation, etc. Which would guarentee you your fall back career. PM me or IM me if you want to talk about it more.

I had a lot of fun during my internship and did it during the summer, so that would allow you to have it on your resume and not miss a semester of school.
