uhh...so im assuming the 54 returnees arent currently flying for work...so who is going to be current enough to go through ground school and pass an oral and get in the box and pass a checkride in 2 weeks? are they serious? im not surprised they are considering us STL based so they dont have to give us a little money to stay somewhere...thats expected out of TSA but really...2 weeks of school?

On the other hand, who would spend another 4+ weeks at STL? Hurry up and get it over with I say. At least they're giving us a couple weeks notice.

Take advantage of the pilot mentors in STL during training... they volunteer their time to help pilots (not just new-hires) through the notorious training program at Trans States, it would be foolish not to give one of them a call if you've been out of the game for 2 years. Just some friendly advice... Good luck!

Hopefully we've all kept our notes from class/systems manuals! I know I kept mine....also I reviewed it last year when the recalls went out so it's almost like brushing up again. The only thing we don't have is the SOP and the GOM....which might make things tough ala Memory Items.

Anyone with any inside knowledge know if section three changed drastically? I still have my notes from 2008 but I don't want to re-memorize anything if it's changed.

Yup, I still have that contact sheet as well. Great advice!

Drastically no...but I'd say between 5 to 10 things have changed a little between limitations and memory items. I forget which ones though.

Ok, can someone explain this to me.......Why not just send out 54 Recall notices? As they get a deferral send out another one etc? You can use the argument that they expect some deferrals, i get that. But the guy sitting at the bottom of the list, is holding his recall letter......for him to get a class date 75 guys will have to defer.

I was just talking about this with someone. I'm sure they are doing this based on the numbers they got last time they recalled us. And now that is has been a year they are assuming more are gone for good.

[I have no idea what I'm talking about but this is an idea]

If they sent out 54 recall notices they'd only get about 15 yes responses...then they'd have to wait another two weeks and repeat the same action for another 39 guys....which they would get even less yes responses...and so on. It's been 2 years at a miniumum for the furloughed so maybe mgmt is thinking "well we know most people have moved on to better and brighter things....or are already flying for other airlines so we might as well ask everyone."

Also you noticed that the wording is pretty open ended as to how many guys might be needed. "We are also planning classes for Feb and March." Might mean they just want to know in case they indeed DO need more than 54 warm souls.

[/like I said, I have no idea whats going on but it's a thought]
