3585: You're kidding right? Oh, no you're not... has anyone EVER used that stupid rule EVER? (except on a 121/135 GS exam or Oral?)

Knowing the rest and duty has saved me Crew Scheduling's whims on a number of occasions. You will be the enforcer of FARs at RAH, not scheduling!

As for 3585, I have used it about two dozen times on the line. The problem is dispatch nearly always screws it up., so you need to know it. A RAH pilot is basically responsible for running the whole freaking airline legally. If you want to keep your certificate, know the rules, because the fools and the schemers on the other end of the phone will inevitably put you in a bad spot.

If you can bring a car, do so. There's nothing close to the training facility to eat. They do have some delivery. Training facility is relatively new, but in an industrial park by the airport. Cool coffee machines that nearly everyone get's confused by on day 1. Welcome on board. I'll be in recurrent next week myself, so I might see you around.

Stop it. No need to run. Welcome aboard.

I'd venture to say that the majority of folks filling the new hire classes right now already have part 121 regional experience. Most are furloughed guys looking for a paycheck and they are aware of the luxurious life of a regional slave.

"what to expect at shuttle?"

Easy: Fly it and grieve it.

God speed.

You can't get on at Home Depot right now without some sort of construction background. Found out the hard way.

Wal Mart will take you for a dept. management but it pays about what a regional does (offered me $10.68 / hr and that was a high starting pay according to the girl who typed my info into the computer. She was surprised.).
