Are any of these Regionals doing AQP style training now?

SkyWest ?

ExpressJet ?
American Eagle ?

Doing a search I found the following are AQP

Advanced Qualification Program - the way all airlines should be training, IMO.

Mesa has had AQP for a couple years now, just for the CRJ. It's a great program. With the extra sim sessions, it's nice to brush up on your skillz a bit before going under the gun, unlike having to hit the box cold every six months.

So, how does it work? AQP for what, recurrent? Initial? Upgrade?

Having worked for the government for 2 decades, I tend to think of anything new with acronyms usually means another cluster.

AQP comes in many different flavors - some airlines use it for just recurrent, others use it for their entire training program.

The biggest difference (in a nutshell) is it is train to proficiency, or rather actual TRAINING vs. traditional "checking". Also, depending on how it is set up, airlines can have Single Visit Training which can mean only one PC per year for captains.

AQP is for recurrent. At my previous airline the recurrent was based on events within the company and some events at other airlines. More real life stuff rather than steep turns, stalls etc. It really is a better way of doing things and much more valuble to the line pilot.
