You are right it is what it is and I'm getting tired of that term btw. Also I can whine all I want....Also reminiscing isn't whining. XJ management has nothing to do with it....XJ of today is a casualty of the Delta/NWA merger ......It wasn't against pcl pilots it was against being owned by pinnacle and not being the XJ I use to love. Again I can reminisce with my old XJ buds all I want.

I'd also hazard a guess that the sham bankruptcy (which WAS caused by XJ's management) had something to do with it. Doubt NWA would have bought them if they hadn't cut costs/downsized through the bankruptcy. Wasn't it XJ management that wanted to whipsaw against Big Sky, too? Sure, you can reminisce, but I'd caution against leaving out some important parts of the past.

Also, 9E didn't miss as many performance targets as people think. 'Course those targets were set insanely low, too. The company even (shockingly) gave us all the performance targets on Jepp sized paper in our V-files last year. Even under Delta, we'd have to work pretty hard to miss some of those targets, even in JFK.

Yeah id agree with that about xj management but i wasn't reminiscing about xj management....In my opinion any airline that a pilot likes is more about the pilot culture and the training.....in my opinion xj was hands down second to none in both for me. That is what i miss...its too bad for the xj pilots of today....again i know things change but that doesn't mean one can't reflect on the good days does it?

Take the thread for what its worth, remembering the fun time at XJ. Things are different now, and there is nothing wrong with remembering that. Company pride is a good thing.

The bankruptcy wasn't caused by XJ management. NWA stopped paying mesaba and therefore we were forced to declared. It was a strategy deployed by NWA management and followed thru by middle management (AKA Mesaba Management). It was NWA's plan all along to declare, giving them the ability to dump the avro's and gut the leases leases for the SAAB's until they were returned. We will reminisce about the people here, their spirit and culture. That culture and spirit is driven by the pilots and flight attendants, not management.

If the culture is driven by the employees why is it going to end? Improve the culture at the new joint.

If that's the case, why are we even discussing it? The pilots and FAs aren't getting fired. It's the management that's changing.

Not to beat a dead horse or get off the topic of the good ole days at mesaba but this is not the case. If it was there wouldn't be a sli correct?

BTW I meant this to go out to the Mesaba pilots about Mesaba pilots and no one else. Not here to discuss other pilots at other airlines.

I was going to post some ranch party pics but I assume they would quickly be taken down.

If any Mesaba guys got some good Mesaba pics put them up. Non Mesaba guys please post your antimesaba or other airliner photos elsewhere.
