Oh the irony...I am currently making $2/hr more than my CA counterpart at XJT, and come DEC it will be $6/hr more and cheaper health insurance and I didn't have to waste money commuting or moving....care to explain that one kimosabe?

Some of the "company" guys got a bit spooled up over the bonus because it involved money. While I don't appreciate some of the personal issues that caused, but I understand the gripe. Call me a "Company" guy, if you can work out some positive space tickets from MEM-DTW-MEM that would be great too....

Or maybe a 90% yes vote says it's probably a pretty decent contract?

Or maybe it says the Union did a good deal of selling it. I've talked to very few people that thought it was a good contract. I have talked to a lot of people that were afraid for their jobs and voted yes. This contract is not industry leading, it is average, it did not raise the industry at the top, it just lifted two carriers up to average.

Yeah, sure, you'd vote no on a contract that gives you (in Mesaba's case) higher pay rates, whipsaw/fragmentation protection, better work rules and benefits all around, job security and an actual chance at an upgrade in two years (verses a possible job loss). I'm sure you would vote no.

This would be original if it were not coming from an express jet FO. It has been said before, many times over. The express jet/colgan debate has been going strong for a few years now.
So we can avoid your post being construed as pure flamebait I would be open to hear your thoughts on a few subjects.
-What have you specifically done to improve this industry other than getting hired at express jet under a contract that was negotiated prior to your arrival?
-Under the Pinnacle/Colgan/Mesaba new JCBA, which points in particular do you feel bring down the industry as a whole?
Just trying to keep this on topic since the Colgan bottom feeder comments are as common place as the PFT threads and go jet inquiries. Id be interested in hearing your points.

I'm asking for higher priority. When the people get on my plane they are getting on Continental flight xxxx. Why is that I shouldnt have equal nonrev benefits? And for that matter pay, contract, and seniority at said airline. The second you agree that you shouldnt have the same board priority as a mainline employee is the second you agree that you are not as important as them. When you get left behind because the mainline ramper that just got hired last week beat you on you are saying that he is more important than you. I would say that you or I have much more invested in that mainline carrier than said ramper. WAKE UP!
to all the people giving me crap: If you work at mainline I beg beg beg you to bring the flying back to mainline and put me out of work. The sad part about this industry is that in an effort to reach my end goal of working at a major airline and having all the perks that come along with that goal I have to be apart of the problem that brings down the future of that position. The military is an option instead of the RJ but lets be honest, once you go military these days you are going military for life.

But then you when the mainline guys aren't looking you tell the world how you have the same job they do so you should get the same nonrev priority on THEIR airplanes as they do.
So tell me how much you have made so far in your first year there and what you have that makes your crappy regional better than our crappy regional?

It is not average by any respect, it brought Pinnacle and Colgan up to the top standards for a regional.

Really, so then who bought you? Maybe I missed the memo but I do not remember seeing a press release saying that we were given Mesaba or Colgan. Purchase is a pretty good word and as far as I'm concerned its pretty cut and dry.
