You asked 2 questions, so I'll address them both. As to your first one. No, I have not had an engine failure at V1 in the CRJ. I will admit that. I have however had an engine failure in cruise in the CRJ. Happened in December because of no oil pressure. I stand by my previous post where I said that an engine failure in this airplane is a non event. We continued to our destination, as we had just started a descent and the weather was better there than anywhere else. Plane flew great, and the captain and I both commented that that was much easier than the simulator plays it out to be.

As to your second question. Yes, I have in fact flown an "underslung jet." before coming to Pinnacle, I flew the Dornier jet. Never had an engine fail in that plane, but even if the sim greatly exaggerated it, the experience would have sucked. Can't comment on other planes.

The 228 is for "all practical purposes" a centerline thrust aircraft as well. I know who you are too!!

I've done V1 cuts in ERJ and 757/767 training. V1 cuts in the sim only, of course.

Is the interview for Mesaba or Colgan? Or are they not making that distinction anymore?
