You're right. You get all the collective bargaining power of the ASA/XJT JNC...without paying union dues. I think ASA/XJT should find a way to get the contract copyrighted and charge a fee so "Jerry's kids" can stop riding our coattails for free. Enjoy your handshake agreement with management...that they can take away as soon as the bonuses dry out.

what i was hearin was anywhere from 1 week to a month to hear if u got the job, and not too long after that to get in a class... i believe they have two classes in december comin up tht they are lookin to fill... when did u interview?

I interviewed 10/24. Took about 2 weeks to hear back about that so now just waiting anxiously to find out when I'll start. I also heard they had 2 in december

also... quick question for u guys at expressjet now... this may sounds extremely ignorant, but how does insurance work over there for yall... do u have to pay into it? and if so, how much approximately per month?

You have to pay into it. I think new hires are eligible after three months of employment but someone who is new can correct me. Costs vary on what policy you pick and if its covering more than just you but a single person, decent policy but higher deductible, it'll run you $60-100 a month (more if it's covering wife and kids). Dental, $35-50 a month. Not sure about vision. I pay $92 a month for medical and dental but it's going up next year.
