The Judge ruled that the FAR's state that since the Capt is soley responsible for the safe operation, case closed.

I am unaware of any such case making it to the supreme court...it may very well have had a ruling and then an appeal ruling from a higher court

Gotta crack up at you some of you ignorant clods. I love this country, but I am ashamed of how many idiots we have who think the world revolves around their suburban enclave.

Now, I'd actually be $2 that the two gentlemen in question aren't inclined do to so either. The problem being that there is precious little for the rest of the world to help us distinguish those Muslims who do advocate such acts from those who do not. The silence from within their community is deafening. As has been pointed out, the 9-11 hijackers were just ordinary people until that faithful day.

I'm not condoning or condemning the actions of the crew, but until the "vast majority of peaceful Muslims" stands up and denounces the other element and cleans their own house, then the problem is on their own heads.

Just my $ 0.02...

Hopefully I haven't stepped outside of the TOS...

You're deafened by the silence because you're not listening. I see as much of the vast majority of peaceful Muslims (as well as prominent clerics) denouncing terrorism at least as much as the "vast majority of peaceful Christians" denouncing abortion clinic bombings.

I don't know about you, but I try to watch Al Jazeera and the BBC when I can. Otherwise, I don't see footage of Muslim rallies for peace on CNN or Fox.

If you say so. I spend a lot of time in parts of the world where those two channels are among my very few, so even though I don't watch a lot of TV, I'm at times forced to watch both. I won't say I've never seen anything like that (the rallies), but it's not all that common (and frequently accompanied by hostile messages either shouted or on signs).

1.) Lip service. Ever actually been to any place in the middle east? Trust me, it's not all shwarmas and hookahs. I was amazed at the violence that is preached in the language of some of the calls to prayer.

2.) Propaganda of a different flavor. Muslim "peace" rallies on Al Jazeera... go figure. Meanwhile the attempts to over throw the gov'ts of Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, and Saudi Arabia continue... peacefully of course.

A lot can be said about "gut-feeling." Not saying the Captain was right or wrong here, but keep in mind that several airline employees reported being very uncomfortable with putting a few of the 9/11 hijackers on planes, but resisted their instincts to remain PC.

Yeah....EVERYONE in Tennessee is KKK. But, only in the same way that every NYC subway rider is a Bernard Goetz wanna-be....You remember, the guy who shot 4 underage (as I recall) African/Americans who were "disturbing him." Sheesh. If you think that there are not 'haters' all over God's green earth, then you need to get out more and simply open your eyes.

1. Post fail. I have more than been to the M.E.. I have lived in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and throughout the UAE. I don't know which calls to prayer you've heard. But the ones I've heard don't advocate violence. And yes, there were MULTIPLE demonstrations of peace by Muslims after 9-11, that's when I lived and worked in the region. The real propaganda is that Western media did not pay them much coverage.

2. Propaganda is right, except not in your intended meaning. BTW; Were the British Colonist overthrown by the American revolutionaries
"peacefully"? I believe that most government overthrows are not of the peaceful variety. What's your point?

I was being sarcastic in my post chuck, you're saying the same thing I am.
