I don't see how this is going to ruin their lives, at worst they are going to go to training for a couple of months, make 24hr per diem and then when the SLI comes out probably go right back to where they were. Besides 9E, and 9L management don't want these guys going back to training and frankly neither should the pilots there. Both companies are severely understaffed and all this is going to do is make QOL worse for the pilots that have to fill in for those that will be in training. XJ MEC is not trying to screw their pilots, they just want a fair and ACCURATE LIST from the 9E MEC, and I don't believe that it has to do with the hire date vs check-ride date. If they agreed to an LOA then I am yet to see them go back on their word. In the time I have been at this company I have not seen our MEC lie to us or do anything that is not in the best interest of the entire pilot group. I also have not seen them do anything during the joint contract negotiation that were not in the best interests of all three pilot groups.
What if they get displaced and the SLI still is months away or there are fences? What then? Now they are all in LGA while they were based and living in mem, msp, and dtw. Your at worst scenario isn't nearly a at worst scenario. At worst they get displaced to LGA. The SLI comes out. Bloch has treated them as furloughed pilots and they get instant DOH seniority losing their mesaba seniority and longevity. They go down from year 3 pay to year 1. There are fences put up and those fences don't allow them to come back for however long the fences are up. How is that for worst case.
Think that cant happen. There are LOTS of mesaba pilots here that think that is exactly whats going to happen.

I don't doubt that you know of the specifics of why the Mesaba MEC has a beef but I can tell you that, while I don't like all of the MEC members, they are not led by an individual that is interested in picking fights for minimalistic reasons or wording that was agreed to and voted on.
There is more to it for Mesaba's MEC to feel the way they do. You know that 99% of the group can't get a hold of that email so either post it yourself or don't mention it because you are unfairly painting a picture of the entirety of the situation from one perspective.

Second- I had reservations about how to get the point across that it's not just "rumor". Just making a point.
In the end, Bloch makes all the calls AND all 3 groups are fighting for each other's best interests.
I just want this process done. Whatever the outcome, it's better to be moving forward than sitting in a holding pattern plotting what may happen and what we can do to change the situation. Frankly, we can't do anything but wait.
I've made my points, now I'll wait.

Higney, is it not the 9E merger committee who first asked to violate the terms of the LOA with the treatment of our furloughs?

What do you call violate? I'm unsure of any mou issue other than the issue of being recalled to lga, but flying here, and where that shakes out on the lists for sli. What are you alluding to?

I don't know where you heard we can keep longevity/seniority. I've talked to both the union and mgmt and neither one knows right now what will happen if we go back or if we stay.

Everyone keeps saying XJ is contesting the DOH issue. But I have heard that 9L is also contesting the list and when it first came out there was around 150 issues with the list. This doesn't sound like just a DOH issue. And I like how higney thinks he knows what's going on, however really he is just a puppet spewing the crap that the 9E merger committee wants him to spread around.

Mesaba's merger cmte wants us to use checkride dates instead of day 1 of class. This issue was dealt with in the JCBA under Transition LOA 2.V. Some think that ALPA Merger policy says when we go into the payroll/HR system (which was day 1 of class), and Labor Law holds that firm with the I-9 form. Day 1 of CLASS fulfills all requirements, is legal, and was even done contractually to avoid any issues. To show how this was so easily adopted- the company had already changed our dates without having to ask. Everyone has complied, but the XJ merger guys aren't liking the situation.
They are fighting for their pilots, but it's now the second round of the same battle. In the end they want to have all 9E pilots on an uneven footing for purposes of seniority integration. That helps their guys, but causes quite the riff when we are all supposed to be working through this challenge together.
There is the "grenade down the aisle" for the day.

Now let me see if I understand this...
Mesaba's/Colgan's Merger cmte is contesting 9E seniority list because over 6 months ago 9E's seniority list's DOH was adjusted from checkride date to Class date in order to level the field and have 9E, XJ and 9L in the same leveled terms in order to prep for a SLI?
Am I understanding this right?
