Agreed, in long term training a car is your ticket to continued sanity. I have taken my car to all of my long term training events except for sims in Charlotte one time. I can tell you even not having a car for sims was horrible, I can't imagine being stuck in the hotel for all of ground too. I might even go so far as say, drive your car to memphis and drive it to minneapolis and then back down to memphis, that's how much I think it helps retain your quality of life....

Both JFK and DTW are slated to get over 30 new hires next month. So chances are really good for you to get JFK. If you are a commuter JFK may be the better option. Commuting into and out of DTW has been a real pain for me. Other guys I know based out of JFK have a much easier time.

Rumor is 15 by early fall and another 15 after the new year. The Plan is to have crews tranisiton from the Saab to the Q due to lost Saab flying. This is all rumors of course, but I bet new hires will more than likely get the Saab. The Q's will probably head to IAH and the senior guys will want to ditch the Saab for the Q without leaving home to do so.

Its becuase that mesaba certificate will be gone soon, and then the colgan name will be changed to mesaba. Its all the same anyways under one seniority list. Go to what ever one calls you first.

Colgan class started their HR stuff today... I'm not sure about their numbers or saab/Q composition (one would assume all saab considering the staffing crunch) and of course since the 6/6 class still doen't even know their bases, it's pretty much up in the air what they will get... word on the street is that this incomming class will be doing indoc in MEM and systems in MSP

Its safe to assume most if not all will go on the Saab since vacations for guys on the Saab have been canceled due to staffing levels.

They tell everyone that, my class was too and I am on the Saab. They especially like to tell people that in interviews, which is understandable, hey!! We are hiring into our best plane! Like you said with the way saab staffing is I find it hard to believe too. I had my line check this morning and guess what no more than 4 hours later I am getting calls being asked to pick up open time.

As short as we are on the Saab I may go flatten tires on the Q's I see around IAD and pull the FO's by their epaulets into the vacant Saab seats to get scheduling off/out of the current Saab FO's rear ends. Canceled vacations and they're hiring into the Q? Give me a break.
