So I understand tat IAH is a junior base? The reason I ask is IAH is the base I am hoping to get. It would be great if I could get it right out of the gate. I always thought the farther south, the more senior the base...

If you had to choose a point of the compass with SkyWest, it'd be west for seniority, not south, especially for new hires, the only exception is Fresno which is actually quite junior on the bottom even on the jet. The last I saw MSP and ORD about about equally junior with IAH being more junior than both. Good luck

We’re only bidding on an RFP put out by UniCal for 15-45 Q400's (been told 30 to start). From what we know SKW is only bidding against one other carrier, when it will be awarded is unknown. There's currently a huge CP Kool-Aid Pep-Rally attempting to convince us to fly them for -200 rates. I know SKW has a “last look clause” so the RFP is truly theirs to lose and the difference between -200 and -700 rates won’t stop them.
Where will they go? Anyone who knows is only guessing. LAX, SFO, DEN, ORD and IAH? Take your pick. At first it would be growth for SKW but it’s been made known that as our -200 come off lease they will be returned with the Q400 being it’s replacement.
Bottom line, everyone in the know can't talk about it due to SEC laws so anything you read or hear is pure speculation…………including this.

What's your educated guess as to when the "last look" may occur?
