My understanding is the "program" is over, and besides a few former program FOs on furlough, the company will have to hire pilots like everyone else once this expansion starts. An investment firm called Victory Park Capital bought Gulfstream as part of an agreement to exit bankruptcy protection earlier this year.

As far as I know, most of the "old guard" from the Cooper years has resigned and a new management team is in place. These new owners seem very motivated to see the airline succeed, and are willing to throw a lot of money into it.

Why would you furlough guys who are contributing to the bottom line, or were these guys no longer paying to fly?

You know something is amiss when there are pilots on furlough, and, simultaneously, street-hire Captains are being discussed. Isn't GIA a Teamsters property?

I say good luck with that. I think it's enough work to fill up a 1900 let alone a 340 to those out islands. On top of that they now need to compete with 3 other operators which are all Saabs going to the same place. Sounds like they want to come in underpriced. I wonder how that will work out given that they are on a prorate basis.

How's that Montana operation going? Is there a crew base out there? Is it senior?

Why didn't they change the name? It is so tarnished.

What are the 3 other operators? IBC is the only one still running... Bimini island air was the only other one and they got shut down

Maybe to pilots but not to the average customer who buys a ticket, not to mention rebranding can be very expensive.

The program guys did their 250 hours, got "hired," and promptly furloughed. There may be a handfull that haven't been recalled. I believe the street CA discussion was raised since the growth plans call for more than doubling the fleet size.

The first of six SAABs will be arriving in Nov with deliveries continuing through July. B+ models, if I understand correctly. Not sure who they used to belong to.
