You have better things to do, yet you take the time to make comments on an article you haven't even read...makes you look like a fool. I agree with you that there is an issue here, we are being lumped in with auto mechanics and HVAC technicians with a VOTEC approach.

The aviation community's cumulative reaction in review....
Starting an aviation program at the high school level is a wonderful idea to expose our nation's youth to the aviation profession earlier and to begin to train our next generation of pilots...
A direct hire program, however, is a crushing blow to the future of the airlines... the whole idea of skipping the interview and screening process allows underperforming pilots access to a multi-million dollar airliner... in short.. keep the high school programs, lose the direct-hire program...

Votec doesn't want aviation lumped in with them. They have far superior pay and bennies.

I don't get Pinnacle. Why not just lower the mins? I mean, if your bringing kids on board that went to the college programs at 250 hrs but won't hire from atp or a guy off the street but still want 1000/200 tt- your are setting yourself up for a huge crisis. Everyone is expecting with the combination of age 65 and the new rules to create a hiring crisis. Are these guys making plans for this?

Ummm... Did you actually read the article?? They do this in high school and it pits them 7 credits ahead when they attend that particular COLLEGE. It is a college program for high schoolers that requires them to attend that college after high school. This isn't a direct hire out of high school. You need to go back and reread the article.
