Default Compass = Go Jets?

Just a couple of questions about Compass...

Will working for Compass be any better than working for Go Jets or Freedom?
How do you feel about Compass taking flying away from NWA, Mesaba, and Pinnacle (for pay marginally better than 50-seat pay)?
Do any self- or profession-respecting pilots want to work there?

I am just curious what the opinions out there are about this animal.

The big difference is that Compass IS an ALPA carrier.... that was agreed to by the NWA PILOT TA..... Bottom line the mainline pilots agreed to Compass when they signed the TA....

Yet as an ALPA carrier the strong potential remains for Compass to take flying from two other ALPA carrier at a lower cost per pilot.

Not really cause if you read the NWA pilot TA the compass Pilot pay rates are written in there and last time I read it a 2nd year FO at Compass make like $34/hr which is far more than I make.... might want to do some research on that one dude.....

I did some research, and I found that...$34/hour sucks donkey coin purse for a 76-seat airplane.

Space monkey. Lower cost per pilot per ASM. Wonder if you feel the same way when NWA rebids the PCL contract and moves routes and flying away from you to Compass?

That's not the point here.... the point here is union carrier vs. non union alter-ego carrier.... If 9E management went and started another non union carrier under pinnacle holdings and then under cut us with that carrier that would be one thing... Kinda like trans states and go jets, mesa and freedom... This is something that ALPA agreed to.... I believe Duane Woerth himself even signed the papers.... do I like it? no not exactly but its what MY UNION ALPA AGREED TO.... GET THE CLUE JOSH

And you don't think that the fact that Duane Woreth is bringing back some of HIS OWN COMPANY'S FURLOUGHEES might play into the picture?

Step back and look at the big picture. Do I think it's the same as GoJets? No. But it really isn't any better either. But hey- what do I care. You argue for ALPA. I'm (happily) no longer an active member. When you get displaced or furloughed as a result of ALPA's "self-digestion" don't come crying to the boards.

First I kinda doubt that fact that the NWA furloughee factor will be a big issue... If you have been following some of the other topics you would realize that NWA is having a real hard time getting furloughees to come back to mainline and will probably end up having to hire mainline pilots from the street again sometime in the not too distant future.... They havent even gotten around to asking anyone to come to Compass... But logic would say that odds are if they are having a hard time getting people back to mainline its going to be even harded to get them to go to Compass.... So my educated guess is that odds are the Compass pilot group will end up being mostly if not completely from the street. As for NWA taking 9E's aircraft and moving them all to Compass well that's a really far out theroy... Think about that for one moment. First of all NWA likes having 9E fly their CRJ's why... 1. were cheap, 2. they are subleasing the aircraft to us so we make lease payments to NWA, 3. Competition and leaverage for negotiation time.
As for me getting furloughed we if it ever happens ya I might be grouchier than usual. but then again so will the almost 500 other guys below me that will also be furloughed.... As for me arguing for ALPA well Im not really doing that Im just trying to make a point about the difference between Compass and Go JET and what is a SCAB and what is NOT A SCAB... That is the point here... DO YOU SEE THE LIGHT YET JOSH????

Wait, $34/hr for a 76 seat airplane?? Do you realize that a second year at CHQ gets $30/hr? Air Wiskey second year FO gets $35? Hell, a 5th year MESA fo gets $34 an hour!!! TO ALL THE POTENTIAL AIRLINE PILOTS OUT THERE----- DO NOT FLY FOR THIS COMPANY! While it may be your short term gain, it will be ALL of our LONG TERM loss!

Oh yeah, and those pay rates above?? THOSE ARE 50 SEAT JET RATES!
