Default Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays ladies and gents! For those of us lucky enough to be at home or in a warm hotel bed in the middle of no where, don't forget all the brave men and women overseas who lay their lives on the line so we can all do what we love. Next time you see a vet shake his/her and say Thank You.

Made the jump from flight instructing to the airlines this year and will be inevitably spending Christmas on the road this year (Bangore, ME). However, I have a lot to be grateful for. Happy Holidays all!

Just took my 4 hour delayed flight into my domicile, in order to start a 4 day trip on x mas. So delayed I may just have to crewroom it for the night. Almost not worth going to the crash pad for only 5 hours......

Other than that merry x mas to all those working away from home ....

Indeed, shake the hand of a vet.

But better yet, volunteer for service, or if you are too old, volunteer in your community. And suggest to your kids they enlist.

70% of kids today are physically ineligible for service. Of the remaining 30%, only 3% decide to enlist. We who serve (or served) ARE THE ONE PERCENT.

I, for one, do not expect everyone to take up arms; but I DO expect people to serve their community. Be a volunteer firefighter, file papers at the police station, or serve at a soup kitchen regularly (not just at Thanksgiving).

We who are blessed, have a duty to help those who aren't. Help those who need it, and (unless you are in a war zone) ask nothing of it.

We are a community. WE need to take care of our brethren. No hand outs, just hand ups. But EVERYONE of us needs to put some time in to help the community.

So, ask yourself, "What have you done to improve your community?" If you have to think of an answer, you haven't done enough.

I continue to serve, but I will NEVER have done enough.

Buy American. Serve your community. Spend good time with a kid. That is the way we will be a strong country again.

Thanks for the reality check. I am spending Christmas in a 5 star hotel in Bahrain. I was missing my family until I got the above reality check. It could be much worse than where I am. (I remember being where you were not so fondly!) I'll call home when they sun rises there but until then I am going out to the pool (its 75 deg right now here).
If I can't be home at least I am on a nice warm Island in the Gulf. Merry Christmas to everyone and please stay safe.
