Not true. That's how my friend got his application looked at 7 years ago. Their online application and review process leaves a lot of guys in the dark. I wrote him a refferal, he picked up the phone, called, the lady pulled up his application, and he was offered an interview 4 days later and in class 14 days after the interview. So 18 days after he called he was sitting in class.

I was happy because they paid me my finders fee. He is now a Captain here. So your scenario doesn't always play out the way you say. If anything, it shows initiative. Especially that someone is that eager to come work for $20,000 a year :)

That's cool. I have not heard of such stories. I know the hiring process is murky. Glad you got paid too!

With so many applicants for so few jobs it is not easy to know how and why all the time.

I wish everyone success. There are worse companies to work for than AWAC. Better ones too but it's not a horrible place if you come to work with your eyes wide open.

+1 this is how i got the job and the HR guy said he picked most of our interview pool from people who went out of their way to reach out to him. defintely shows you really want the job.

Does Air Wisconsin have any relationship with United anymore? It says on their website that US Airways and United are their partners. I thought they were only US Airways Express.

I called HR in December 2011 and was in class 4 weeks later. Once I got through to the right person, I was offered to do a pre-screen on the phone and offered an interview in Appleton 48 hours later. If you want to work here, patience is a necessity and once an interview is offered - do not turn it down. Good Luck!
