AWAC Hiring Plans/New Minimums

I'm currently in training with Air Wisconsin and wanted to update everyone with regard to their hiring plans and new minimums. The Director of Training came to our class today and told us that they have extended their hiring plans for pilots. The original plan was to hire through July. That's been extended now to November. So that is good. However, as of today they have raised the minimums from 800/100 to 1000/100. In addition, the minimums will be going up again on July 1st to 1200/100. The new minimums are already reflected on the job posting for CRJ First Officer on the website. Best of luck to all current and future applicants.

Nope, it still says 800/100.

Why are the minimums going up in July? What dictates that?

One would assume because it's that much closer to August 2013 and the "ATP rule"

Thank science for that! Can't wait! Anyone know when a final rule is coming out? Someone more than just a checkairman shall we say, rode in the jump seat about a month ago and said the rule should be out really soon.

It was signed into law in August of 2010.... I dont know the exact law, but it is officially "on the books"....

Yeah, I know it was signed, but wasn't there a big chance of amendments watering the ATP waaay down?

Last checkairmen that sat Jumpseat on our flight said most likely the four year part 141 grads will get an exception of being ATPed at 800 hours instead of 1500. :D
