I'm no Shyguy, but I was predicting BK long before he was, you can read my posts...As far as Pinnacle getting more Q400's, I highly doubt it, but I have no facts to back it up, just rumors. If WE do get more Q400's thats just great, and I will happly admit that my predictions were wrong!
I personally believe that BK is inevitable, and the CRJ200 ASA is in grave danger with Delta...

IHMO, don't believe anything will happen (more Qs or BK) until a week after it has happened.

Exactly, there is no reason why the Q shouldnt make money.. So hopefully they get a new contract. They want Qs, they had an RFP for some not too long ago!Originally Posted by Silver02ex
I was thinking the same thing. The company and United are working on a deal with the Q. It's true that RIGHT NOW, it's not profitable, who knows what kind of deal they get.

The Q itself making money was never the issue. Thats all Horizon flies now and I doubt they would if it didn't. If the ISL and quotas stay as they are I myself am rooting for Q's replacing Saabs cause any additional Q's would be senority order and us mid 07 guys from 9E and XJ might have a shot at an upgrade before the decade is up. Bad news though for the new Saab guys if it were to happen. Its all rumor though. Menke addressed the RFP a few months ago and it was on hold indefinitely at that point. Won't know for sure until we're in class.Originally Posted by Fly782

Even if we just took 15 Qs and did a 2 for 1 with the saab we would still probably not have to furlough. Hoping thats the case, I think the jets will be fine. It all comes down to Unical.Originally Posted by MunkyButtr

The Qs, Saabs and ATL 900s are unprofitable right now because of code share contracts we should never have signed in the first place with the cost structure involved.
If we can get a better deal with Co-nited and get our staffing levels up to realistic numbers I'd love to see more Qs on property!

Which are all real possibilities. Lets just hope the new paper pushers in memphis are better at pushing paper. One would think this would be a good opportunity or unitacon. I would think the Q's would still be profitable even if they had to pay a little more.Originally Posted by captain152

You people disgust me. You want more and more 70+ seaters at the regional level. Have fun with that. Just know where to look years down the road when there isn't a job for yourself at a legacy: a mirror.
P.S. I dont care even if it is a "turboprop." That thing is as big as a DC9 or F100.

You do realize now with AA and their new 88 seat proposal that scope will never get reclaimed. It is not anyone regionals fault for the influx of RJs and less mainline jobs. It is the senior mainline pilots who allowed it to happen and will continue to until we start flying space craft. Management has figured out that it is alot cheaper to outsource and they will protect that by offering pay increases to get those senior guys back up to what they were making pre BK. To top it off now they will not be able to compete with AA so they will throw other ideas at the pilots to get their beloved outsourced RJs. I want a mainline job as much as the rest but I am also not blind about what is happening in the industry. We are contract workers and we will fly whatever our mainline partners will give us. We cannot refuse more Qs and say we wont fly them, we already do. 190s on the other hand, we can tell them to pound sand because of the low propsed pay rate, etc. But the arguement cannot be f u Delta, this is a mainline plane only they mainline can fly it! Their response? "Ok well then were giving blowjets a call". Get a clue. We are our own worst enemy and the root of the problem is the pilots who sold out on scope in the first place.
WOW that was alot longer than I thought... O well needed to be said
