So after August 1, 2013, a 22 year old pilot with 1850 hr TT, 1250 hours PIC King Air C90 CA time, ratings through Commercial Multi, plus CFI, CFII ,MEI and a Citation 500 SIC type with 350 jet turbine hours can't apply for Part 121 FO position because he/she isn't 23....basis for FAA not changing to age 21 for ATP if all other requirements are satisfied is what??

Understand current FAR's on min age 23 for ATP.....but back to my original question: any comments from the FAA or other, on min age 21 for ATP certificate, assuming all other "1500 hour rule" requirements are satisfied?
also curious on airline position of "rule" eliminating min. two years of FO hiring pool, even if 21/22 year old pilots satisfy the new flight time/experience requirements. btw, no need to be sorry, I'm on the back side of the power curve...age qualified for ATP many years ago. |
