I hear ya....I was just throwing the info out there. I would expect the XJT provisions to carry over to the next contract, plus tying up any ambiguous language in our current reserve rules.

So at XJT, if you have a 12 hour duty day with 6 hours of flying, how much do you get paid?

I feel the same about training pay as I do Ready Reserve pay. We should be paid for 100% of our time, not 50.

In that case, shouldn't that apply to any duty time? Why is reserve or training any different than flying a trip?

While making a lot of assumptions, one probable answer could be 6 hours.

I said I feel we should be paid for 100 Percent of our time, not 50. Duty In to Duty Out. Even if it's not our "flight rate". Unfortunately I put too much money into flight training before I realized how pilots are paid for only 50% of their time. You sound like you are ok with this. I've had many jobs in my life; grocery stores, pharmacy's, FBO, flight instructor and being an airline pilot is by far the worst when it comes to paying you for your time you spend on the companies watch.

Another topic for another day. But can we get it all at once? No. little by little.. training.. ready reserve.. pre-flight.. little by little, maybe we can paid for our time.

[QUOTE=ysslah;1141207]As much I would love to see a ready reserve period getting cut to 4 hours, I understand we can't get everything we want.

Why are you ready to concede the idea of cutting the RR to 4 hours? Are you in the short call reserve bracket? Just wondering.

I am a short call reserve. 2 problems I can come up with on top of my head with cutting RR to 4 hours from 8 hours.

1. It will cause double the number of people to be on ready reserve per given day. This may or may not be a big issue for some people. I know plenty of people who live more than an hour from the airport. It'd get really old to drive all that way just to get 4 hours of credit.

2. I think we have other things that needs to be fixed first in our reserve system before the length of a ready reserve section. In fact, I'd take 8 hours of credit for 8 hours of ready reserve before 4 hours of credit for 4 hours of ready reserve.

We already drive all the way to the airport for 4 hours of credit. I agree though, they are going to need more people to sit RR. Although I agree we need a lot of improvements in our reserve section and our QOL as a whole. However, for me personally, the length of RR is also low on my list.

We already do 8 hours for four ours credit. I say we limit the number of RR assignments to maybe 4. Thn make it hour for hour. So 8 hours credit for 8 hours. I would prefer the xjet system and get 4for 4 but would accept 8for 8.
