4 for 4, 8 for 8, whatever.. Just pay us for being at work.

If I'm not getting paid I should be able to drink beer.

I just read an email from the JNC and Phase III Scheduling is "Currently in Negotiations".

I take that to mean that both MECs have signed off on either a PBS or Line Bid proposal. Once our proposal is submitted to the company what do we have to lose by publishing out stance? I was only at ASA for ~year when Contract '07 was TA'd, so I'm fairly green when it comes to negotiations.

Just spoke to a rep yesterday, this is not true. XJTs current position is to allow our proposed version of PBS for phase two bidding only, phase one remains current line bidding system. They are still waiting for a counter. Its gonna be awhile.......

This is the only possible good outcome! PBS or whatever hybrid for secondary, and the current line bidding with out contract language (XJT) for phase one. Nothing else will get approved by the majority.

There are many things that can be negotiated in scheduling before you start talking about bidding systems.

I'm not sure I buy that. The way it's been explained to me, and inferred in JNC emails, is that each section needs to be completed and approved by the MECs before it enters negotiations.

This topic might do better on the ALPA board, but I'm a little too lazy to figure out how to log in.

From the Union this afternoon:

All ATL CR2 Captains and FOs will be required to rebid for their April lines. The pairings that the Company decided to use are creating unacceptable lines, excess open time, and produced far too few reserves to cover the schedule. The Company has agreed to use the pairings that ALPA recommended initially, which have higher productivity. This will benefit the pilots with more days off or more pay, depending on the bidder, for the majority of the pilot group.

The new estimated bidding schedule for ATL CR2 CPT and FOs:

Bidding opens: March 19, 1700 EDT
Bidding closes: March 23, 1700 EDT
Lines published: March 27, 1700 EDT (As Soon As Possible)

The confirmed bidding schedule and the Reserve bidding schedule will be released as soon as they can be confirmed with the Company.

The Association has been told that the Company will release a statement sometime today. The Association will also publish a communication with a full explanation of the series of events that led to the rebid.
and we're in danger of a worse system?

This is a pairing generation issue. Not a PBS issue. When you generate a majority of <20 hour 4-day pairings. And a TLV at 86, No system is gonna work.

We need to be in control of our own pairing generation. Get it in the contract! I can't wait to see the 'explanation'.

Explanation? I would really like to see an apology from the company, because this is completely unacceptable. And quite frankly it's disrespectful to my family.

I don't think our current system is that bad. The mentality of the Flight Ops management is a totally different story.
