TopNotch - The reserve section of our contract needs to be burned. You stated only two of many things that need to change. Ready Reserve for one. Sit at the airport for 8 hours and get paid for 4 hours. I just can't wrap my head around this..? Can you help me understand it? Call to get released... Call me back in an hour to get released... .Bang head here.

It's really no different than training pay... 8 hours in the sim or in class pays 4 hours. I assume XJT gets paid 1:1 for training time?
That being said, I'd love to see 4 hours of pay for 4 hours of ready reserve in the new contract, however as others brought up, the same amount of ready reserve hours will need to be covered. So, twice as many people will end up sitting ready reserve. On the ASA side of the house, they have several crews overlapping on ready reserve from about 0600-2400 daily. I'm not sure how XJT schedules theirs.

ASA guys on reserve...you can kiss 8hr ready reserve goodbye. That sh!t is just cruel punishment that nobody should have to deal with.

Absolutely, there are many things that need to be burned. The "call in policy" when your finished with a trip on reserve is awful. Finish a trip, and you haven't been notified, RELEASED, back to reserve.
There are so many things that need to change. Its particularly bad for the reserve guys.
As for what i said 'arbitration', I was mistaken. I was thinking mediation. A third party will not help us and drive us further apart as a group.

On the ERJ side...reserves do not need to call. Scheduling can assign another leg within 15 minutes after you've blocked in. If nothing within 15 minutes, you are automatically released.

I understand. I'm totally in favor of your system. I'm saying we need to include those provisions IF we still have to call them under the new JCBA.
