I've been hearing that too... about 10-12 years seems to be the cut-off for when they'll either leave when hiring starts or stay for the QOL/pay. I think we're going to be seeing FOs leaving in droves. 5+ years in the right seat with no upgrade prospect in sight is more than most of us can stomach. First chance to get out, we will.

2013 is gonna be interesting.

5 years in the right seat is more than you can "stomach"?

Wow, entitled much?

Try not to take what he said out of context! 5+ years AND no upgrade in sight. That definitely doesn't sound like entitlement. Stagnation at any job type is frustrating.

At first blush, I see your point of view, Prune Juice. But I think K-zoo says it best. And, gosh-I really, REALLY hope 2013 is interesting, as in things working in pilots' best interests (finally) kind of interesting .

You must not be familiar with what 5+ years in the right seat at a regional involves... I don't know many people that can "stomach" it, they're all just doing it because it's the state of the industry. Obviously when the majors start hiring, FO's will be leaving as fast as they can because they will be the ones most demoralized by the regional industry. Especially those that have actually maxed out the FO pay scale. The structure of regional pay is what it is because there aren't supposed to be involuntary 5+ year FO's.

I'm not an FO but I see your attitude as the big problem here not that "entitled" Fo.

As a profession, we should be outraged that any of our members have to spend 3 or 4 or 5 years at sub-$40.000 wages while they pay student loans.

Sooooo, for those recently interviewed, can you give a gouge and tell us how far in the future we are with giving class dates?

FlyingLow62 04-17-2012 02:18 PM

Does anyone know if there is an email address to send a resume to or is everything just done through airline apps?

AeroCrewSolut 04-17-2012 02:25 PM

Everything is done through AirlineApps.

They made it very clear that, as with everything else in Aviation, "this could change in any day." But here are the class start dates they were projecting. We were also told that we would hear back within 1.5-2 weeks...that time has come and gone a few of us, so who knows!
