Has it ever occurred to you that it is in fact management that is twisting the facts?.
My primary argument here lately is that someone is lying through their teeth. The followers default to assuming their eBoard does no wrong. Your NC "may speak for you", but that doesn't mean you need to stick your heads in a hole while they do it. Maybe IBT and RAH should agree to video tape their meetings together from this point on. Because right now the he said/she said game is a joke. Especially when he said what she said and then decided he didn't actually say what she said. |
Anyone personally know the hostage? Does his story honestly jive with the story being presented to the followers?

It has and I am sure RAH management has a long track record of doing just that. But, we have first hand experience of just how adept IBT is at twisting the facts to make the other side look bad. Look how well it worked out with us, huh? ~700 pilots that want nothing to do with them.

Because right now the he said/she said game is a joke. Especially when he said what she said and then decided he didn't actually say what she said. Well, listen, let's be realistic here for a second. You guys didn't want anything to do with the IBT because it represented a regional that acquired you, and we had the numbers. You guys were happy with FAPA, end of story. I get that, understand where you are coming from. As a matter of fact, when the transaction transpired, every pilot here was ready to switch to FAPA because we were beyond unhappy with what the IBT leadership at the time was doing (whole different era though). It was only after FAPA gave away scope on anything below 125,000 lbs or so, and said they want nothing to do with the Republic pilots that we had to figure out an alternative, ala Local357. Now, after this transpired our numbers mattered more than before because we did not want a FAPA union that was going to throw the other 2000 pilots under the bus, regional or not. I hope you get that. I've always said it was very unfortunate you got involved in the mess that is RAH, but the pilots who have been RAH before FAPA came along could not allow the company to continue raping us anyway they saw fit. You wouldn't, and won't allow it if it ever comes down to it. Ergo, our current situation on our end. Has there been some foul play, or rather unfair treatment from your point of view. It's quite possible. But it seems you fail to consider the amazingly complex situation we found ourselves in. The situation being we were ****ed with our at the time union representation due to lack of balls, all these acquisitions happen while we are in negotiations, you guys want nothing to do with us from the get go (this is a fact), start up of new local, single carrier, single seniority list, etc. Basically, it's a cluster ****. I am sorry if the newly formed local wasn't quite ready to deal with you properly, and approach things differently. You know how the saying goes, hindsight is always 20/20. As to your second paragraph there. I absolutely agree. They don't have to video tape it, record all encounters between company and union. No stone left unturned. I have to point this out in regard to the pay raise. Why is the company talking pay raise i.e. negotiating during ops meetings. It's not the place for it. Those guys are not gonna respond with a yes or no. Ops meeting are just that. We are in mediation. If they wanted to offer a pay raise, talk to NC, write up a LOA, put it up for a vote. I'm sure you will agree with me on this. They may as well have said we have to give you a pay cut. I still firmly believe it's the company lying through it's teeth, and this is not because I blindly follow the union. I do not. |
SSMR13.
Nice post! Not that I agree 100% with everything you said, but that is besides the point. I appreciate the good retort. |

mulva and bolo I was waiting for you two to chime in. First off I find it insulting that you think we are so uninformed I read all of these articles you Quoted within an hour of them being released. Also, if you were, I'm assuming you are not, members of the 357 website you would see a very healthy disscusion on the material.
Not sure why you would be insulted that we keep ourselves informed. It's good to be informed and it impresses me that you are diligent enough to do the same. That's part of what I like about seeing you on this board, you can bring value to the discussion. You are correct that I am not a member of the 357, but you would be amazed at what one might find laying around the crew room or an airbus cockpit or just simply raining down from the sky some days. I probably should pay little attention since, when I do, I wouldn't characterize the discussion as being all that "healthy". Entertaining for sure, but healthy? Anyway, the point is not that someone is informed and another not. The point is that EVERYONE needs to take responsibility to be informed and dig as deep as necessary to confirm the information they are receiving is accurate. That's all. |

No, it doesn't Vulva.
Since we are on a first name basis now please feel free to call me Dolores. That one have you scratching your head then? Back to the first head scratcher, since your head is not itching you must obviously be informed. Can you share your thoughts? |

I'm happy F9 Pilots choose to stay informed because it will help all of us down the road. I Keep an open mind about the union and company communications and i'm well aware the union may not be who I think they are. I ask you to do the same i understand why you dont like the 357 but the company may not be who you think they are either. Stay informed keep an open mind and the truth will come out someday. |
