PNCL Out of seniority Furloughs
#21
This i disagree with. The quotas are doing their job and protecting the left seat jobs that the pncl pilots had at the time of the merger. It unfortunately doesn't protect their FO's but at least their captain jobs were protected.
As a CJC pilot I know this is going to severely impact my income, but I feel it's only right. Our career expectations went to liquidation. we will be lucky have a job.

Hey guys,
There are a handful of pilots discussing the JCBA of the conference call on the PNCL pilot website.
They will ask for, and may even receive, the ability to work without a contract with the union but it won't come to that for the many reasons that both Tom's mentioned. New terms will be negotiated with the union for the pilots to ratify under the threat of chaos without a JCBA.
It's just the process.

Does anyone think this place won't go chapter 7 if they have to retrain 800 pilots?
I think by filing ch 11 they took a gamble with the whole company. If they get around sham ISL somehow, they will survive. If not, the whole place is going to liquidate.
I think it would have been cheaper to just continue the status quo but they are betting the company in hopes they wont' have to displace and retrain everyone.

Soooo, no!
My position was not protected!! Not only have I lost a stripe, pay, and seniority to this sli now you guys want to bypass longevity to screw your fellow coworkers? Explain to me, all of you union drum beaters, how furlough out of seniority is any more "scab" than screwing a guy out of longevity because of some conveluded sli???

Either you're opposed to out of seniority furloughs our you're not. If you make decisions based on your own self-interest, you'd have to say that you're not very concerned with the principle.

Because that is the joint seniority list like it or not. Longevity doesn't mean s!@#. You via your bargaining agent accepted arbitration and that is the list ruled on. You don't have to like it, but if you have integrity you accept it. We did at NWA (while some still and always will *****) nobody sued(maybe in small numbers, but never gained traction) and we went on acting/flying professionally and doing our jobs. Some guys had close to 3000 pilots that were hired after them slotted ahead of them. Chew on that. That is more pilots than on your entire list. You can either handle this as an adult or like the usapa losers. Your choice.

They shouldn't even be calling this an out of seniority furlough.
I think they need to undo the SLI. Then furlough based on inverse seniority which is the normal and proper way to do this.
I am not wanting any "out of seniority furlough", I want the SLI undone.
PS. I would rather none of this happen, get 30 more Q's, brush off the SLI crap sandwhich, and live as one big happy family.
