Right, because Delta wanted to merge all 3 Colgan, Mesaba, and Pinnacle. ? Make no mistake, had Pinnacle Inc been standalone, Pinnacle Corp would have dumped Colgan (liquidate) and had Mesaba without the Saabs. Pinnacle Inc would not have run out of cash, considering that only the 16 CRJ 900s were losing money while 126 CRJ-200s were on a money making contract.

That's why DL management wants 70 new 76 seaters, they'll use that to break the leases on the 50 seaters. With Pinnacle now at the mercy of Mama Delta, it wouldn't surprise me if Pinnacle got 30-40 of those new 76 seaters in exchange for 3-4 50 seaters gone. What would Pinnacle do? Say no?

Read carefully.... When Delta picks up the 717's or more 76 seaters they will park 3/4 of Piinnacle's fleet. A 717 can fly the load of 2+ CRJs and Delta wants to get away from 50 seats. Meaning most of Pinnacles fleet will be gone, out of a pilot list of 3100 pilots there will be roughly 1200-1500 pilots left on property. How can they do this? Easy, it's Delta's discretion with DIP financing. All that will be left 15yrs or more guys and gals... Sounds a bit like Comair to me.
