"Flawed" doesn't even begin to describe the Regional business model. Daddy Delta is using their regionals to whipsaw eachother for who can do it cheapest. Now these Regionals are forced to ask their already low paid pilots to take less pay to keep their existing low paying jobs.
Here is the irony. Spanjers is speaking about how important it is to grow in the 76 seat jet market, when just recently they allowed Delta to force them into terminating their 74 seat prop contract with United. A contract that could have been reworked and profitable but Delta wanted to "stick it" to United and Pinnacle did what Daddy Delta said.
Run boys and girls, run far far away

These new developments are the reason we are temporarily suspending labor negotiations while we take time to assess the impact of our recentdiscussions with Delta. Once we reformulate our business plan and identify the level of additional concessions needed to make it work, we’ll communicate those details with all parties and return promptly todiscussions with our unions.
Most of the junior 9E pilots have already bailed out, and others continue to leave from the junior side (guys #2000 and above). Of course, the lifers on the -900s will want their money-maker to survive, so the paycuts will come. It's sad, but it is what it is. I just find it funny there are those 9E pilots still taking shots at GoJets, yet they don't realize that in less than 12 months, they will be making at or less than GoJets wages. You want the -900s, it's gonna be GoJets/Compass wages. OR you can draw a line and say "**** this" and just leave. Of course, there are those who still view themselves as 'above' applying to places like Spirit or VA, so they will stick it out. Good luck!

"Delta told us that the bids they’ve received from other
regional carriers on 2-class flying were significantly below what they pay
for Pinnacle’s CRJ-900 flying."
Let me see if I understand this correct. Pinnacle bid to fly the 900's at a loss, and now they are going away. So Delta has bid that's lower than that?

question for former xjer's did northwest buy you guys before the negotiations were complete and did northwest management basically finish them or were negotiations in chapter 11 complete before the purchase. I am asking because it seems like putting negotiations on hold right before the TA vote at delta is odd especially with the timeline in the DIP financing that delta gave us to finish their contract. I am a person who has thought that we will not get purchased by anyone but this latest development has me wondering.
