I second the Ariat ropers. As for belts, Take a magnet with you to the store. If the magnet sticks to the buckle, Leave it alone. If the magnet doesn't stick, you are good to go.

I just picked up a nice pair of Puma's at the outlet store. Slip on real easy no shank and they look nice. Best part was the price $45.

I buy my belts from Coach and have never had any problems with the buckles setting off the metal detector. You pay more but as my previous post regarding shoes mentioned, you get what you pay for.

If your'e looking for something inexpensive that will last. Look into Thorogood. They are a goverment contractor for the Postal system, Police, and Military. Their stuff is not ECCO comfy by a long shot, but very durable and official looking.

Ecco all the way.
Bought my first pair in 2005 and replaced it only after the sole literally wore away, which was 7 years later. ECCO Helsinki Slip On | Men's - Black Santiago - FREE SHIPPING at OnlineShoes.com The Helsinki offers the best value for the money, in my opinion. I'll never wear another shoe. |
another vote for Ecco.

1-1/4" black bullhide belt will last your entire career and then you can be buried in it. Nothing like a custom fitted belt with chrome round buckle that doesn't ring the beeper. I have 3 of these belts in different colors and each one is of the highest quality. Follow the fitting directions on the website or talk directly to Jim. If you go to Artesia, they work great for that too :) |
I used to have a pair of Rockport's that I liked, but when I needed new shoes a couple of years ago, that pair was discontinued, and every other pair I liked from them had metal shanks, so I decided to follow the advice from another thread and try a pair of Ecco's, I will never buy another brand of dress shoe again. They may be expensive, but they look great, are as comfortable as a tennis shoe, need no break in perioud, and my 2 year old pair looks almost brand new still!
Ecco's all the way! |
