I posted this in another thread as well:

Got the official word today, skyw has not stopped any interviewing. They had to reschedule a few because the hiring personnel couldn't be at the group interviews AND the pilot interviews @SLC at the same time. Seeing how they have 2 groups interviews scheduled for mid-November, it makes sense that they probably won't schedule any interviews until after that. The rumor that we have stopped interviewing is, a rumor.

As far as slowing down the hiring, I don't think this will happen either. I've heard they are running a few more check-airman classes, so that should help with the IOE backlog. With all the attrition and airplanes coming, I just don't see how they could slow down any hiring. We are already majorly understaffed.

Less hiring would not slow IOE...that doesn't make sense.

It takes about 3 weeks to get IOE right now (which is not really a bad thing...you get paid and have travel bennies).

According to the hiring manager, individual interviewing has slowed because the recruiting staff is very busy travelling to do group interviews. It will pick up again soon, they are still looking for pilots.

is IOE equally split for all three airplanes, or is most of it going to be spent in the 200/700 with just a flight or two in the 900?

btw for you guys that reguarly switch off between the 200,700,and 900, does that get to be a little tricky? my bro tells me everytime he gets in the 900 it gets a little interesting because the sight picture during landing is so much different with the longer fuselage and the slats.

Most of training focuses on the 200. There is a day and a half of differences for the 7/900 the last day of ground before starting FTD and SIM on the 200. After IOE on the 200, go back to SIM for 2 days on the 7/900 and then just take a line check. Viola!

At SKW, initial sim and IOE is all 200. After you get online, if you are at a 700/900 base, they will have you come back and do a 700/900 sim ride at some point, followed by some supervised flight time.

LDG is different between the 200 and the 700/900, but once you get it figured it's not too hard to go back and forth. If you go a couple months with no 700/900, that can get interesting. I just make sure the other guy flys the first leg...
