Colgan Q guys
#1
Just curious whats happening to the guys flying the Q after 9/5? Are you guys able to hold other aircraft or have they announced furloughs? I have some friends over there, just wondering what the word is.

They haven't posted the realignment or reduction notice yet, so not sure yet if they will furlough. Many will displace into the jet captain spots (thanks Bloch) Either way there will be a lot of Q pilots sitting at home collecting a check waiting for retraining to the CRJ's

everybody goes onto paid vacation under their current seat rates until training happens (indefinite time for that...contract states 110 days max)...then after ioe on new seat/airplane those rates kick in...united benefits for 90 days from sept 5th, then we goto delta. furloughs are expected but not immediately. est num 800-900.

ALPA put out an email clarifying the 800-900 number a couple weeks ago. That's after the ATL 900s are gone, and is the total needing to be cut from the list at the time of Bankruptcy. So who knows how many will actually be furloughed since the SLI hasn't been updated in months.

Presumably the same thing that we Saab guys are doing. Sitting at home, checking our schedules at 10:01, then heading to the beach as we collect our guarantee.
