Hopefully this trend will continue along all areas of DCI and is the beginning of the end of outsourcing. The more jobs that are brought back to DAL and DGS the better. In the long run it will create more mainline jobs for the DCI folks to migrate too....which is better for everyone concerned. You can't make an omlette without breaking a few eggs. DAL is in the beginning stages of a several year process to re-create itself. Imagine the cost savings if we didn't have 8 or 9 Regionals, Managements, Infrastructure, Maintenance...ect. The DAL pilot group could easily be 24,000....and even on reserve as a plug on the smallest equipment....it'd be a better job than any RJ Captain at xyz regional. Been there, done that and don't ever want to go back. I want everyone at mainline. The sooner the better.

His point was that it's rare to find a CA at DL that has only 12 years... it's much higher than that in reality.

Do what? By default then every captain is at least 12 years then. You sir, have confused me.

So then there are very FEW captains with less than 12 years in. That means that a majority of the captains are at 12 year pay right? I didnt think delta started over in the payscale, correct?

pretty simple really, it was stated about 240 an hour 12 year captains. there are no captains that have been here 12 years making 240 an hour. Anyone at close to those rates have been here ALOT longer than 12 years.

try and keep up

I get that. I was referring to the top of the payscale. I see that the pay tops at 12 year pay. So then every captain is making top of the scale pay. Someone said there arent many guys making that.

Unless the pay starts at year 1 captain when you upgrade which i didnt think was the case. Must be then so i stand corrected

I get it now, wow. My bad

Dude wholly owned outsourcing is still outsourcing. You realize that the regional elite folks are being forced to take paycuts now to keep doing the same job they had been doing, right? Take that forward 5 years, what prevents Delta from starting "Superior Ground Service" and shutting down DGS? Outsourcing is outsourcing. Churning the butter is nothing to be appluaded.

This is why SCOPE is so damn important. A group without scope faces the continual threat of having their job done by someone else for $3 less per hour. I flew with an RJ capt last week who no joke asked me "what's scope?"

You were talking about the top of the pay scale. They were talking about the longevity of captains making near or around the pay rate you were speaking of ($240 an hour). Then it was a little muddled. To be making that rate you'd have to be on the biggest equipment at the 12 year rate which you would have to be to hold the seat. To be on the biggest equipment at the 12 year rate you'd have to be near the top of the seniority list to hold the seat. Therefore at the company for a very long time. A little less muddled?
