Midwest Airlines RFP

I keep telling you, you don't want to come to DCA
Or yeah, you do, but only as a Capt!
DCA controllers actually have a sense of humor (kinda like ORD), unlike the whiny, bitchy, AWI-hating controllers at PHL until "slow to approach speed, now speed 200kts to the runway, can you give me 90 degree S-turns to 35?"

Pinnacle is the other airline left in the running for the midwest flying. XJT was the third. They've been out for a while. Right now midwest is reconsidering the whole deal, meaning nobody would get it. If the contract is signed it will almost certainly be with AWAC rather than Pinnacle.

AWAC, who is still in the bidding, doesn't even know who else is involved. Midwest hasn't said. Somehow I doubt someone at a place which was cut out would know.
Incidently, I wished the company did not publish the Midwest bid. Now whomever is left in the competition knows AWAC is too. Not a good way to increase your chances.

I have heard that one of Midwest's concerns is that our airplanes look terrible. The interiors are filthy.
I don't know much firsthand about Pinnacle's operation (only what I have heard, and that is not very flattering...) but their airplanes are very clean. The interiors have nice leather seats and it appears that they actually care about what the customer sees.
ZW has got to show Midwest that we will run their operation differently than the United and US Airways things (filthy airplanes, unfriendly F/As, etc.) or we don't stand a chance.

I agree; have you seen PSA's planes? A world of difference. I can't believe the company hasn't spent some of their windfall on upgrading the aircraft interiors.
Pinnacle itself runs a great "numbers" operation. I read an article that at one point this year, during a 3 week period, they had zero cancels due to mx issues (just ATC delays). Pretty impressive. AWAC management goes crazy if that happens one day here.
AWAC = "premium product"? I think not.

We never had a shot at the Delta RFP, or even the Northwest 76 seaters, guys...Midwest, we actually have a chance at.
Once again, I wouldn't be suprised if we don't get the flying, but if the company can't secure the incremental growth they keep talking about in their own backyard, they aren't trying.
