As the others have stated, RSV and living base can be a tolerable existence.

The level of tolerability can vary which side of XJT you get hired into.

I'm guessing Asa side and commuting the rougher part?

Commuting to reserve sucks. But yes, commuting to reserve on the CRJ would suck worse.

But it all depends on the commute. Because ALL commutes suck, it's just the level of suck.

But it has to deal with a difference in current reserve work rules between the two fleets.

best advice I can give you is KNOW THE CONTRACT, because C/S does not, and they will take advantage of it.

RSV differences between the two sides are like night and day. They are so completely different. Makes a huge difference when you know you will be off of reserve with in a year or so opposed to 5 years and growing at the LASA (ATL) side. And the rules are pretty bogus on the LASA side as welll. Plain and simple: LXJT spreads good things around to the pilot group in a more even manner. LASA gives just about EVERYTHING to the most senior guy. Even if he doesn't want it. Makes being at the absolute bottom a little less appealing to say the least.

I'm willing to bet that ATL LASA might have the longest FO reserve out of most regionals. But that is completely uneducated and based off of a hunch. Someone else will most likely chime in.
