Default EGL TA Ratified

Fellow American Eagle pilots,

Today, we received the vote results on the EGL-ALPA restructuring agreement.

The agreement was ratified with 75% of the votes cast in favor of the agreement. In addition, 85.38% of all eligible voters participated.

Although none of us wanted to navigate the bankruptcy process during our career, we are pleased that this difficult chapter is now behind us and we can focus on moving forward, exiting bankruptcy, re-fleeting, and pursuing paths to grow our company and ensure that we sustain solid piloting jobs well into the future.

Your negotiating committee will now turn their attention to the implementation process and we will have much more for you on that shortly. In addition, the MEC will be meeting mid-October to provide direction to the negotiating committee on AQP, as well as means by which we can assist our low-time first officers in obtaining the minimum requirements for their Airline Transport Licenses.

I want to close by thanking you for your support during this process and asking that you continue to be engaged with your union. Together, we have navigated this process with professionalism and maturity and I am confident that we will continue to work together to solidify our careers and protect our livelihoods
Yup. No further comment.

Is 85% of pilots that voted a good number? I think they only got 60% for the 6/8 year deal...

It was worse than that. I think only around 40% voted on the 6/8 year "poll." 85% is pretty good I think.

...great news, it passed!!!! does this mean I get to work more but for less pay? not to worry, I think they'll allow us to pick open time again to make up the difference.

In one way, yes.

You clearly agree that you are not worth additional compensation to fly larger aircraft and all that revenue should go to your management and thus in that respect, it IS a good day as you are both on the same page as to your lack of worth (AKA worthlessness).

In all other respects, it's not such a great day for most others. At any rate, now the real whipsawing can begin. Personally, I expect your pay and 401(k) matching to be further reduced, unless you plan to give up a lot of your flying in the future. Believe me, the majority will throw you under the bus to keep the flying and their jobs.

Enjoy !

Thanks to all of those who had a spine and voted no, too bad they were too few. Now the the company will be saved and lose no more flying. All will be well with the world, said johnathan ornstain four years ago.
