There is also a risk that someone could try to control you by grabbing your tie, hence why some choose to wear a clip on. I don't, but I can understand why some do.

Zipper ties are like girlfriends, when one starts to sag and covered with stains, time to buy a new one, they're cheap enough
I hated those ties also until I borrowed one from a friend and I haven't looked back, I'm horrible at tying ties, so it works for me. Our ties are black and have a logo, but I might just stick to the plain black tie that I already have.
What about wings being embroided? Does no one do that?
