Default I'm blaming Pinnacle just because...

This TA is going to pass

However, I see other regional pilots pointing their finger at us and saying that we are " lowering the bar and need to think about the future." What future? There is NO future for ANY regional! We all got into this industry thinking we would hopefully one day move on to a Major. Over the past decade many pilots have made careers being at a regional, and it has work out very well for many of them. This game is changing.

The Delta guys changed it by bringing in a quality contract that basicly whiped out our entire fleet. Good, not that I'm happy about losing my job, but it creates more jobs at the mainline (where I want to be eventually).

Our bankruptcy has been orchestrated from the very beginning, none of this happend by chance and if it did, they have played their cards extremely well from a business standpoint. Delta is sick and tired of paying $100+ an hour to senior regional pilots and is changing the game... Its happening... NOW... like it or not!

They started with Comair... told them what they wanted... didnt get it... shut them down. Pinnacle by our circumstance... was next! I 100% believe that if this is voted down Pinnacle is "comaired." Could this all be "smoke?" possibly.. but it was passed by my union and now I must decide.

If this isn't passed "pinnaclized" will now be a verb synonymous with "comaired, easterned, and finish him." Will Delta give a damn? NO... They will move on to ASA/XJT and play the same game. AND out of fear you will be put in the EXACT SAME situation we face today. You will then vote in a consesionary for fear of being "pinnaclized/comaired."

We are unfortunate to be at bat waiting on the next curve. Comair unfortunately was called out first. You are still on deck and spectating, so stop pointing fingers! Please be respectful of the situation we are in.

That is NOT how it went down at Comair! Delta got exactly what they wanted in the bankruptcy they dragged us through. Testified in court that these were the rates they needed for us. Grinstein's rep negotiated directly with our union negotiators. We voted it in. Had fleet guarantees and percentages of new equipment guarantees.

Then 3 years later said we need to reduce your costs more (even though you're right at where we said you needed to be).

All three unions were in negotiations. Delta shut us down.

These are the critical elements that you must remember. This TA. These guarantees are and will be worthless.

Those who believe otherwise choose not to learn from the past.

Period.

Good Luck folks. You WILL need it. And PLEASE plan ahead!!

Geardown, Delta had it out from you Comair guys from the beginning. I sympathize with what you all went through and find myself in the same situation now. Nothing grieves me more than to see Lindburg taxiing 900's with CA on the tail. I'm sure it's even more painful for some sitting FO while your CA has less than a year of experience in the same aircraft. I'm not even blaming the Gojet guys... they are just along for the same ride and have taken what they have been given just the same as Skywest guys that are happy to be flying the 15 900's that we just gave them. My point is .... We are ALL in a shrinking regional industry... it just hasn't hit home for some folks yet, but it will. Our contract is close to the industry leader right now but will sadly not be in a few days.

Default my 2 cents

This is a great forum to express your opinions or vent! What I don't agree with is airline pilots and especially captains crapping on Jumpseaters because they work for another carrier that may be voting on a "sub par" TA!

All that accomplishes is hard feelings and fractures unity among Pilots in general. Pinnacle Pilots are ALPA members and adults and have the right to vote on their negotiated TA. To harass them or persuade them one way or another is simply wrong!

Just vote and get on with your life. As an Xjet FO I do think your vote will have an affect on our negotiations, but I don't blame anyone at PNCL for voting yes on the TA. You guys are in a lose/lose situation. It's much easier to tell someone to "do the right thing" for the betterment of all when their career or ability to support themselves isn't at the business end of a loaded gun.

I'm surprised nobody is giving Eagle guys more crap...They literally bent over and took it without any lube.

They are only a -700 operator as of now, the -900 with CA on the tail are flown by SKW or XJT

I really enjoyed 9E and still have many friends there. However, the above is 100% true. I have lived with at least a dozen Comair guys throughout my crashpad tenure and have a pretty good understanding of what happen. TA or no TA 9E gets shut down. Those who don't understand this need to try and come to terms with the reality of the situation prior to voting in my opinion.

I'm sorry for the struggles and tough decisions you all have and wish everyone the best of luck!!!
