Express Airlines (9E) was originally in MSP. It was moved to MEM (1997 I believe) when Express was downsized and focused on Northwest's southern regional flying. Mesaba was grown and focused on Northwest's northern flying. The Express name was changed to Pinnacle when Northwest became the sole owner. Later, an IPO returned Pinnacle to a publically traded company.

Minimal IMHO is anything less that a 15% pay cut especially compared to the majors taking 30-40% cuts a few years back.

CAPTAINPCL..... What an insult to many fine DX at 9-E, yes there are mostly good ones. Just exactly what kind of better DX do you want for $13.00hr cause that is all they are going to get paid in MSP,dont expect DL to run this ship much better in fact they may sell it off to another buyer.

Cold whiskey, close but no cigar!

Express started with Mike Brady and flew for southern. They came into the NW sys after the republic merger and started flying out of msp after that. The headquarters has always been MEM with an expensive penthouse suite in ATL.... Lol

What ever, I never had a North DX acars back that getting an Alternate on the release was "not their problem" IMHO they can't get this operation north quick enough. Anyone decent is snapped up by FEDEX. Like the press reports say, the labor pool is much better up here.

I really dont think that any former displaced NWA DX or front office personal is exactly going to sit waiting for the vacated positions to be posted. Again DL will not pay anymore than what 9E did in MEM, I dont think they will adjust it for COLA, they would have to pay a DX around $17-18 an hour.

Huh? I've taken them down or back numerous times in the past few months for the workweek. And DV will ask the CA to sit in back so he can chauffeur them too.

If there was ever any good dispatchers at Pinnacle, they have already gone to FedEx, everybody knows that 9E was a stepping stone for dispatchers to go to there. Over the years there has been some really great dispatchers, but they have mostly moved on to more purple pastures. My bad stories far out way the good and there are far too many to tell here. However, I really hope that the good DX and CS will consider moving to Minneapolis, a very cold and dreary place, not for the weak hearted...

Also, its interesting to note that in the local news article it says that there is only going to be 200 jobs in MSP, isn't there around 600 in MEM?? It looks like Pinnacle is going to be trimming the FAT and I highly doubt many MEMPHIANS and NMFC will be headed north!! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!

Just so you know again, I HATE MEMPHIS!!!!
