Bogus data here. Skywest pilots can take the offered raise (do it, it's free money) and then vote in a union if desired. The union will then begin negotiations, but the current rates are locked in until the new union negotiates a contract, at which point the new contract takes effect.

I think that the pilot group here at SKW will vote in the union. After all the unchallenged changes and implementations SKW pilots have had enough. Mgmnt has asked a lot of us and all we’ve received are broken promises. 99% of all the pilots I speak to on line are ready to vote, YES. It's sad; if Mgmnt wanted to keep us non-union they could, it wouldn't be that hard, just take care of us and give us a compromising say in changes to our work rules. The newest pay proposal is a slap in the face for 80% of our pilots.

Not that this is necessarily the right reason to vote in ALPO but this pay proposal (or lack thereof for the Bro guys) has pretty much been the straw that broke the camel's back. My fiancee is voting for it only because he is so ****ed about the lack of raise for the Bro pilots. I agree with him. I mean, we have been at other regionals and Skywest is by far the best but this is one shady deal too many. Like I said - the straw that broke the camel's back. Looks like airline management has become master at dividing pilot groups which is what they are pretty much doing with this POS slap in the face proposal.

Sorry to hear everyone. My friend just showed me the proposal. It stinks for you. I find it interesting that they increase first year pay so little. OUT OF POCKET for SKYW (IF) they hire 1000 pilots AND they all work 1000/hrs a year is equivalant to $230,000. And if they don't hire. . . . That cost goes away. I saw where they got the money. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=SKYW
Jerry sold 10,000 shares.
1-Nov-06 ATKIN JERRY C
Officer 10,000 Direct Automatic Sale at $26.42 per share. $264,200
WHAT AN INSULT. SKYW just paid a QUARTERLY dividend of over $1.9 million to shareholders. This is QUARTERLY.
Also, in addition I did a little research myself. . . . Even with the 1% increase and Override, SKYW is still 7%-12% BELOW industry standards for the 70 seater.
Rough Average for this industry vs. SKYW
Industry Avg. SkyWest $ DIFF SKYW
Year Crj700 Captain Captain Underpaid
1 $63.50 $56.60 $6.90 -12.19%
2 $65.40 $58.40 $7.00 -11.99%
3 $67.50 $60.10 $7.40 -12.31%
4 $69.50 $62.00 $7.50 -12.10%
5 $71.50 $64.00 $7.50 -11.72%
I suggest that you guys vote your SAPA folks out and really get someone to work for you. Apparently, Turboprop pilots don't mean much AND apparently neither does a non-union company.

i am a new hire at skw. let me just say i am disgusted by the way the SAPA guys have come in here and tried to fill our heads with BS. i really did come in here with an open mind. now that ive heard them talk all week, i realize how far off they really are.
heres my favorite quote of the week: "youre going to be very happy with this proposal." No Jim, im not happy with it, and not because they didnt raise first year pay. Im more disappointed because YOU TOLD ME i was going to be happy with it, KNOWING FULL WELL, that it was a miserable pay package.
stop lying to me SAPA.

Is the dude high? How can he say anyone would be happy getting less than the last VOTED DOWN proposal and screwing the Brasilia pilots?
I emailed all the SAPA guys and told them they should be ashamed of themselves. We'll see if they write me back.

Voting in Alpa isn't going to change anything for the better. Don't think that voting in alpa will give you comairs rates. If anything JA will start taking away things. Skywest doesn't need alpa we are 1# when it comes to pay for the regional industry.

Go to the alpa BBQ, see what they have to say. But think before you vote, and remember that a company that treats you with dignity is the exception in the regional world.
