That'd really show him boiler. Way to go.

Way to show your clout in the right seat. If I had a F/O who tried to do what you described, I would slap him, and put him off at the next stop.

Yeah thats it, slap me...and see just who ends up getting pulled off the trip to do a carpet dance in front of the CP.

There is nothing unprofessional for making someone explain their actions while on the jumpseat, after all, they are a captive audience. Many RJ pilots have gotten the third degree from mainline crews in the past and this is no different; in fact, its much more pertinent. In exchange for the free ride the jumpseater can answer the questions or they can sulk and not talk - the choice is theirs. As the FO I could always refuse to fly stating that the presence of that jumpseater makes me uncomfortable and that they would compromise CRM and safety of flight...but I wouldn't do that because that is unprofessional.

I have a 'friend' at GoJet, who started employment after two rounds of furloughs at TSA. I've called him a replacement worker to his face and I would have no problem doing the same to anyone else with a GoJet ID. I don't believe in that internet toughguy stuff, and by God if I'm going to share a cockpit with a GoJet pilot they had better have a good explanation for their actions, because I'm damn sure going to ask those questions to their faces.

If you have a beef with that behavior, I might suggest manning up and saying something to me about it, or if you're into that internet toughguy/passive-aggressive stuff, contact Pro Standards...don't go running to the CP like a little girl.

Are you telling me that if you fire/furloughed...whatever and GoJets was that last option that you wouldn't take it? Some people just want to put food on their table

No, I would not work at GoJet.

I would go fly freight, I would go back to flight instructing, I'd fly charter, or I would get out of aviation altogether and get a 'real job' all before ever considering that avenue.

you cant feed a family at first year pay for a RJ, so anyone coming from another company with some jet time would probably have enough brains to pick up some temp work at a corporate gig, or they could go out and get a job at home depot and earn more that first year RJ in order to put food on the table.

Same excuse used by every scab since time began. You act like a scab, you should be treated like a scab. Anyone who works for a non-Union airline that undercuts union contracts shouldn't bother asking a Union Captain for a jumpseat ride.

Boiler-
Negative, I fly for a Part 91 operation in TX, so I don't have jumpseat privlages.

As a F/O, I realize the the person sitting next to me is in charge, and if he allows someone to ride our jumpseat, then I will treat that person with the same amount of respect that he (the capt.) does. If the captain is treating the person poorly, then I will simply keep my mouth shut, and perform my duties. I don't engauge in ****ing matches in the cockpit. THAT would be unprofessional.

I was merely pointing out you proving yourself to all readers that you are a hardass, and would make the jumpseater sweat. Not something to brag about in my book, but more power to you.

I think I made it clear that I thought that kind of behavior was stupid. If you consider it beef, then I guess it is. I did say something about it, and in fact, my words are what sparked another "clout-ish" response from you.

I don't do internet tough guy stuff, I am merely telling you what I think of your post. I have no interest in fighting you, or going back in forth with you for that matter. Good evening.

yes you are...and someday you will finally hear the pop...

it's frightening how we as pilots never hold ourselves accountable for how we damage the industry. it's even more frightening that some people can't even see it either.

ps expressjet initially didn't allow gojets in the jumpseat. I've heard it's now changed, what a shame
