RAH has a fleet plan, awarded new flying, new birds, same upgrade time as Eagle, work rules? About the same thanks to Alpa.
Now the positive about Eagle:
Company E-mail
The ability to sign in for your trip right from your iPhone !

Did you proffer to displace of did you bid it? Two very different scenarios as both will get you 3 move days but if you were awarded a vacancy only one of them is paid while the other two are unpaid... Displaced get 3 paid move days plus if relocating you will get 4 days off at your discretion, in other words you can take them over a 4 day trip and get paid for it "for moving purposes"!!!

As far as the senior guys selling the junior guys out. Well not everyone did but there are many captains running around who voted yes and bragged about how good the TA was, they also spent time telling their FO how we needed this TA. Now these guys are talking about how they can't wait to flow via numbered or 824.
As far as management and union implosion, well apparently there is a possibility of a shake up in both sides in the coming weeks.
WARich, man I appreciate that you are doing your homework about a regional but you also need to understand that on online forums you will find some very good information but at the same time you will get much *****ing, moaning and doom and gloom from the so called I speak the truth or I have my connections.
Eagle has a corrupt representatives that will be replaced either way in August, that doesn't mean the replacements will be better. But if you read around all unions are ****ed at their reps and want them replaced, ours just drink more and bend over for management a little more as well.
Eagle management is bad and is getting worse as they know their time is coming as US Airways already said that 1000 or so manager will go bye bye and we have many managers who won't fit the mold, starting with the CEO. So management will likely be shuffled and we don't know if we will get an improvement.
Eagle spin off, they threat about it but their best time to do it was during BK, only a hand full of managers are talking about it while the rest say its on hold and unlikely. Spin off serves no purpose and it isn't likely to happen. The reason that this always comes up is because AMR management uses it as leverage but we know they are very secretive about what they do so...
As far as a fleet plan, we will shrink to 230 or so airplanes by years end with no aircraft orders on the books and with more airplanes likely being parked at any moment. That same can be said for any other regional but we have the most fuzzy future.
As far as pay, eagle is average
Soft pay, below average
As far as work rules we are average and mainly protected by FAR
We have a 6 year upgrade (on paper) meaning it has been awarded but the pilot is not seating on the seat yet as he is awaiting training
For a regional we are overall one of the better ones, good training, safe equipment that is well maintained but heavily MELd and good resources.
We are likely to see a high number as far as attrition but it could be countered with less airframes.
Currently hiring, upgrading and all bases have many more FO than captains, meaning that AMr can upgrade as they are doing.
I would highly recommend that if you come to eagle don't take the 5k as that would allow you to bail if you need to, the bad thing about rah is that you have a training contract and would be locked for two years there but they are likely to keep their current large RJ fleet for a while. It's a toss up, I like eagle but i dislike the current situation and hate management but I would probably say the same at any major!

Why would you not take the 5k and just hold it. If you leave, you pay it back. If you're still there 2 years later, you're 5k richer. Seems dumb not to take it unless they have some language in the contract that I am unaware of.

Eagle is no better or worst than any other regional out there. Good Luck in your future decision Warich.
