Long ago the La Quinta on Paradise was used by many airlines. The place is completely ghetto now! May not even be a La Quinta any longer.
Good to hear they built a new one.

Know what's cheaper than $25? Family that lives in Henderson... If you can find someone who lives in Anthem, take it! You won't be disappointed, I promise...

I think you meant Trop. As for as the Mandalay Bay pool, it is nearly impossible to sneak into. Totally surround and there is only one access point. It is like trying to sneak into Disney World. Good luck. You need a key that is current and valid and they will swipe it. Don't waste your time trying to sneak into the MB pool.

For those on this board thinking about getting into the industry, pay close attention to this -- Airline pilots can't afford a decent Vegas hotel and have to sneak in to places that have a good pool.

It's not about the pool --- it's the sneaking!

If I go first class, I stay at Venetian. On a budget I stay at Bally's. $60 during week. Not much to look at from the outside, but the rooms are new and nice. Plus, it's connected to Paris, and the casino chips are interchangeable.

If you really need to save money, I recommend staying downtown.

Did you read my post? Maybe you meant to quote the same guy I quoted?

I pick up trips every couple of months in LAS and when I go I do a hotel/rental car deal. The best deal is about $50, which gets you a night at Circus Circus and a rental car at Dollar. I know everyone will say that Circus Circus is awful, but they just remodeled the West Tower and the rooms are better than most hotels I have ever been in. For May I had to pay an extra $5 to stay in the West Tower, but worth every penny.

FYI I have noticed in May it was $71 for a night at the Luxor and a rental car. So don't just limit yourself to a hotel when getting a rental car and hotel package may be a better deal.

I always stay at the Rio when I'm in Vegas. I like the theme and like the "all suite hotel" idea. The rooms are huge, Kcup machine, King beds, etc. I have stayed several times during the week for under $30/night and under $100/night on weekends. They also have the biggest "all seafood buffet" in Vegas too, if you are into buffets.
