Things are almost always bitter during contract negotiations. Mgmnt and labor fued over labor costs like cats and dogs while a/c and growth are used as bait. As an Acey driver I believe that we will have a new deal in the very near future, hopefully by Feb. JA has given upper Mgmnt the mandate to clean up our ops or they will be replaced. With that said we have seen some improvements in manpower and eq.

First year pay is horrible no matter what carrier you go to at the regional level. Hopefully in our new deal we can raise it to a livable rate.

24G, I can think of other carriers (Comair Mesa Mesaba) that are worse off than ASA. Don't let the rantings of a few deter your career goals.

Unhappy Capt Dan Robertson S C U M B A A G

After being in a pool with asa since April or so,
I get this letter in the mail from Capt. Dan

Dear Joe,

Upon further examination of your application, some inconsistancies have been brought to light and unfortunately, I must drop you from the pool.

Not a spot on my flying, driving tickets, or for anything for that matter, all my employers gave me positive feedback. A month later I got another call from ASA asking me if I'd be interested in an interview for a pilot position.(???? hmmmm)
When I called Tomica, she said that I should not have called. that this is a warning, that the lawyers will be notified for they were the ones who said that we should'nt tell you that we decided not to hire you and they, (the lawyers ) told us not to tell you or anybody why we decided not to keep you in the pool. She thence took on this 'defensive stance', but I told her I was called again, she said he was a new guy and didnt know the lawyers wanted me out of the pool, she went on further informing me thet she didint like the pitch or the tone of my voice and told her supervisor that I called her a liar!! and not to call back.

Somebody tell me this is not the frigin "Twlight Zone" for Christ sakes??

Source? I heard SKYWEST INC. was awarded the flying. Our chief pilots are running around saying we'll be the ones doing it, not Skywest AIRLINES.

True, D. Robertson is a scum bag. He used to be a chief pilot. About 8 years ago, he issued a mandate that pilots were only allowed to consume one bottle of company issued water per day, after that we were instructed to kep the bottle and refill it at the fountain. The next day he came in to find his office filled with empty water bottles. The letter was rescinded.

Consider it a blessing to get shot down by ASA. You can do much better. Go apply at Republic.

As for Tamika, all I can say is welcome to 'da ATL. You witnessed the "Atlantitude". Here in 'da ATL, social promotion gets extremely ignorant people into positions of power that they would not otherwise be qualified for. When the going gets tough, they get defensive and shot the opponent down with attitude and threats since that's all they have to offer.

If I were you, I would hire a lawyer and pursue ASA, especially since the company threatened you through Tamika with their lawyers. ASA thinks they can treat people however they want to... right up until they get sued.

Anyone else wanna chime in?
Why did you apply in the first place? Are you proud of yourself now or something???
