Default CHQ Questions

Looking for any help on a few questions regarding CHQ. Have an interview in a week and wondering if hired what to expect as a class date? Are they running dates around xmas? Also what aircraft and Dom can a new hire expect. I see they have a 75hr reserve guarente but how much flight time can you expect on reserve and once off; if willing how much could you fly. Thanks

The short version:

1. Class date will be assigned about 2 weeks before class. You'll get a phone call and find out aircraft type/company then.

2. Any aircraft is fair game - no reason as to why some people get one airframe and others don't. If you don't have ATP mins. then you won't get the 170.

3. Domiciles are as needed. My class got spread across the system pretty evenly. I would say CMH or CVG would be a safe bet for CHQ (not LGA or MCO), as far as Shuttle America or Republic are concerned, I don't know.

4. Reserve is...well, it's reserve so it's never great. Some guys don't have to do it, others do. The smaller the base you get, the more likely you are to sit reserve. If you're reserve in a large base, you will probably break guarantee every month. Small base...not so much. You can always switch to another base as long as your seniority number can hold it and there's an opening.

Congrats!

What's your total time? Do you have any internal connections?

That's SWEET! Good luck. I've got 1330tt, with 800 turbine SIC, 1000ME and they won't call me!!!!!

Oh well, I'll be over 1,500 by the end of Jan. Was hoping 121 would allow me to get the call early, but I guess not.

I've seen a few post that they're interviewing a some with lower than 1,500. Wonder what the key is to get the call?

Anyway, best of luck. Maybe I'll see you there in a couple of months.

I submitted a resume for a friend who was only 75 hours short of 1500 (has the multi) and they told him to come back when he gets the time. They are very adament about sticking to the posted minimums unless you're DCA. That was one of the first things they told us in the interview...

I went to DCA and I've also got ATP mins with quite a bit of 121 time. Sent my resume in almost 3 weeks ago and still haven't got the call. Seems to be no method to the madness?

Be persistent...update, resubmit, the whole nine yards. One guy told me to Priority Mail my resume to the HR recruiter so she would have to sign for it and general curiousity would at least get her to look at it. It never got that far, but I did spend a lot of time waiting. Keep at it. If you have an internal rec, those help big time.

Sharky,

That's what I was thinking (resubmission) but I didn't want to seem pushy. I'm very new to this and didn't know proper ettiquette when it comes to stuff like that. Thanks for the advice.

Default couple of questions to add:

1. Is PHL a base? I was just talking to a new hire and she mentioned philly although I dont see it on the apc chataqua page.

2. I heard that LGA is going to be a domicile no longer. Is this correct?
